It depends on what version of MK2 that you have, if you got the Genesis version, than yes you can as them if you have a Game Genie or Pro Action Replay device.

most of the time it froze the game. pretty much everytime if you were a boss and about 1 of four matches wiht the hidden characters. though it was kinda neat to do, it didnt let you do much wiht the character. if they had correct working moves it would have been decent, but most of their special moves just set you up to be kicked the crap out of.

though, if you were player 1 against the computer, it just meant that you always fought a badass contendor. jade fights were great.

Hell I should know this shit considering I own a damn Sega Genesis and also MK2, Game Genie, and a Pro Action Replay, here are the codes and pictures to back me up, because I don't give out fake info to my fellow MK fans because I know what the hell I'm talking about.

Please Note That While Playing With Shao Kahn or Kintaro, the game will more likely crash because they were not to be playable, who can however play ok with Smoke, Jade, and Noob Saibot, just as long as you don't hit Low Kick because the game will crash.

He didn't asked about UMK3, but I'm pretty sure he knows they are playable in the that game, he just wanted to know if he could play as them in MK2, which is possible but its not really worth it because most of the time the game will freeze if you hit the wrong button(in the case of the Genesis version, LK).

If you do anything besides hold down, hold down + block, block, or jump straight up the game will freeze. Also when you play as them, the background will always be Goro's Lair.

You can play as Kahn and Kintaro as well. But if you do anything except just stand there then the game will freeze. Goro and Kahn will always be in Kahn's arena unless you are facing a hidden character, then it's always Goro's Lair.

Well, if you used the codes that I believe AceKombat (correct me if I am wrong) posted correctly, you can use Smoke, Jade and Saibot without crashing, (Granted: Smoke and Saibot would have either Sub-Zero's, Scorpion's or Reptile's moves and Jade would either have Kitana's or Mileena's moves, but at least they would be playable!)
