Hey I was wondering after viewing the video of Motaro that Midway released a days ago, has Midaway given any details about the Centuar race and the Shokan race before till now? Like how the two races became rivals and all... I have been playing since MKDA and wouldn't know about pervious games. I really like Motaro and Goro, so any of you guys have any infor for me?
thanks
thanks

Well the shokan's came first meaning goro. He was a guard for shang tsung and helped him to win victories for outworld.
Then came kintaro shao kahn's right hand man who came out of line to prove himself amongst the fallen shokan goro.
Kintaro also failed.
Then came sheeva, who was a protector of queen sindel. She and motaro had beef.
Shao kahn saw that the centaurs had more brainpower then the shokahn.
He left motaro in charge of his extermination squads.
Im not to sure what started the fight between sheeva and motaro.
I think it was about the centaurs running wild over goro and shao kahn and endangering the shokan race.

The two groups are described as natural enemies. This would suggest that the conflict comes from competiton for land or resources in Outworld that has probably existed since the two races came into contact with each other. I agree that over the years this has probably led to a dispute over honor and who the superior race in outworld should be.
I think the MK 4 comics mentioned that the Centaurs had control of sacred Shokan land in Outworld that they wanted to have returned adding to this conflict, but this is not considered to be valid. In any case we don't know for sure how long this feud has lasted or if there was an event that triggered these intense hatreds.

Thanks you guys for all the information. My next question(if it's ok with the topic) is concerning the two races in a battle. Who would get the advantage? surely there has to be countless conflcits from time to time between these two races. But the way I see it, the Shokans hardly stand a chance aganist the centuars.
Firstly, centuars can charge from a far distance, creating an unstoppable force, knocking or destroying everything in its path. Not to mention the metallic tail that can also be used as a lethal weapon.
Centuars are also said to be physically superior, bigger than the Shokans. It means the Motaro might be stronger than Goro or Kintaro.
I think Shokans are slow and bulky, they can only be poweful with face to face combat, like in MKSM opening sence..but in suppose an open area, they are so vulnerable.
I really like to hear your thoughts on this.
Thanks.

well in your new question you asuume many things.
You ASSUME that shokans are slow.. yet we see sheeva and Kintaro jumping all over the screen
You ASSUME that they are in open battles.. yet they may very well bebattleing politically or using gorilla tactics
You ASSUME they are qequal in numbers... yet we have only seen one centaur
and most fatally you ASSUME that the strength and speed determines the battle when Shokans may very well be much more experienced in battle..
hope this helps.

I think it was in MK3 where there was a picture of a bunch of cetaurs running into battle with Motaro leading the pack. This topic title sounds like a MK version of D&D.

Hmm, although I can see your points about the Centaurs, I woudln't say they are more powerful than the Shokan. While a Centaur has four legs a Shokan has four arms, just stating the obvious. Shokans would probably have more upper body strength favoring takedowns/power but the Centaurs would have more lower body strength favoring speed. In a fight between the two I think it would look even. While a Centaur could charge at a Shokan the Shokan could grab hold and lock on to bring the Centaur down w/ them. Just my opinion though. Also note that since Motaro in MKA lacks his hind legs and therefore lost his primary sense of being a Centaur, I believe that the MK team made him bigger on purpose. Naturally in the past games Motaro was always about the same size as Goro height wise and his arms were close to if not a bit smaller either. If they kept those same proportions and cut off Motaro's hind legs then clearly the Shokan would have an advantage but I think they tried to even it out by making Motaro's arms bigger as seen in his screen shot with Kintaro.
