Okay, what I don't understand is this. How can Sonya blow a death kiss when she is a Special Forces agent. I mean, we already know why some of the other characters have their powers, for example Scorpion is a hell spawn ninja, which makes sense about the whole hellfire moves and such. And Sub-Zero is a Lin Kuei warrior, and Lin Kuei master the element of cold. So how is it that Hotaru can do a lava blast when he is a human-seidan guardsman. Also, how is it that some characters have their powers when they are normal humans. For example, Liu Kang has the dragon spirit inside of him, giving him dragon abilities such as dragon breath and the ability to morph into a dragon. My guess is that characters like Sonya and Hotaru read spellbooks or someone taught them how to do the magical powers they have. Or they could have read scrolls on how to do the magic they have now.

Does anyone have a logical explaination for this? I have given mine and what I think on how they got their powers.
