no doubt the arcade versions are better. but i don't think the console ones are as bad as people say they are. they arent perfect i know. i use to play the SNES versions of MK2, MK3, and UMK3 all the time. i know there are huge differences in the UMK3 arcade and SNES but MK2 and MK3 were pretty good if not close. MK3 also had fun cheats to play with. do you think they are really that bad?

i don't think they are bad at all. i loved waiting for mk2 to be released on snes back in the day, and finally getting my hands on it, then i played it all night long. i knew it wasn't the same as the arcade, but damnit, it was mk2 and i had full access to it to play all the time. same goes for mk 3. i think they were great. and they still left the arcade fresh, in the fact that they were not like each other. so i still wanted to play the arcade versions along with home versions. this is why i love mat2. i actually own an mk3 machine, with mk2 and 1 installed, but mat2 is the best home versions yet. and they are good. these issuses people talk of, is like crying over spilled milk. half of the issues they talk of i never experienced on my version. a couple of things have, but the other 3/4 of it i have yet to see. i have it for xbox. and i still love my snes and sega mk games. they are not too bad at all.

give it a rest dude. no one cares that your unsatisfied with it, so quit bashing it at every oppertunity. it's old. hell, the game itself is already a few weeks old. i thougt everyone covered that at release. don't just pop into someones thread and preach that mat2 is crap. maybe they can see past the issues you can't. they might miss out on a title they would have loved, since there are 20 games, not 2. so there , we all know your unsatisfied, but don't bring everyone else down with ya. stay and chat with those who agree with you. those who don't, really don't want you spouting off your stale 3 week old view. to me it's like biting down into a juicy 3 month old piece of green bread.

Maybe you didn't notice 95% of the people who post on here, and purchased MAT2, are unhappy with it in some aspect. More people care about being cheated, than anyone like you who is mindlessly happy with it. Go ahead, keep making useless posts.

People shouldn't start these little flame wars over something like this.
On another note, the only port of any MK to either Genesis or SNES that is worth mentioning is MK II, and it was still pretty bad. Yeah, it had a couple of sounds that the arcade had and it had the right music to an extent, but the music still sounds like a damn 3rd grade choir (deadpool, living forest, you know what I mean). The game is way too slow (it takes about 10 seconds from one fight to the next whereas in the arcade it takes about 2 seconds). The Pit II fatality is ridiculous in the arcade whereas on SNES it's a hassle, with all the wrong sounds (it sounds like they fart when they hit the ground). I guess I am nitpicking this game pretty bad, but this topic is about comparing the two... Don't get me wrong, for what it was, and after playing the Genesis version, I was quite please with SNES MK II, but it still wasn't the MKII I played at the arcades against 30 year old cholos that threatened to kick your ass if they lost.
Peace.
