Okay, I know you all might think this sounds stupid, but if you have seen the MK History video in MK:DA, you might have noticed what I believe is the Mortal Kombat 3 character, Skarlet. As most people are saying, Skarlet IS ONLY a glitch, and she uses Mileena's sais. If that is true, could someone please tell me why we see the actress who played Mileena in the video with the sais IN A RED OUTFIT? She is on the screen for about four seconds, but you should be able to notice her. Plus, if there is another post in here like this, I did not know. All I want to know is that was Skarlet a glitch or just a thrown-in character (like Jade and Smoke in MK2).

maybe red is just the basic color they wore for it, and then they just edit it later?

The costumes were read because it made it easier to pallete swap som of the characters. There was a very early picture of Nightwolf in MK3 where his costuem was also all red.
There's also a few pictures running around of MK3 Shang Tsung in red tights.

its for coloring/motion capture purposes.
if you notice, theyre capturing in front of a BLUE screen. so it would be hard to capture a blue color in front of a blue screen. so characters that had blue on their costumes has to be a different color, red. and the reason for mileena being red is because they didnt want to do multiple sessions for characters that wore the same costume. kitanas is blue. so, they did it with red, then changed it blue, green, and purple for the game. simple really.

~Crow~ Wrote: Hmm... they're probably right. But that doesn't mean Skarlet won't become a real character in the future, just look at Ermac. |
all the "ninjas" were red at one point. ermac (along with smoke, rain, etc) were added cause the ninja characters were the most popular, so they wanted to add more.

the actress (becky gable) was red cause she played 3 characters. one of them (kitana) was blue. shes red for reasons that i stated earlier.
