LOVED IT, HOW CAN U COMPLAIN BEING A PENGUIN AND SHITTING A BOMB??
I've always regarded Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 as a waste of time and effort...
Totally unnessesary, considering shortly afterwards Mortal Kombat Trilogy was released which is pretty much a steroid induced version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 anyway...
Along with Mortal Kombat 4, I'd say it's my least favourite Mortal Kombat game... I don't count Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe as a true MK game because the whole idea behind that game is utterly fucking rediculous...

UMK3 unnecessary?.....wtf?.UMK3 is the only Mk game tournament worthy and one of the most balanced of all the MK ..and it's not opinion,it's a FACT,MK Trilogy is fucking broken.

It was the best Mortal Kombat hands down. You can't get full respect for UMK3 unless you see the best in the world at the game playing it. It's a pretty fantastic game. It's pretty ignorant to say that it was unnecessary. I don't get that. Trilogy was a boken version of UMK3 and certainly not a steroid induced version.

It the best feel to the fighting out of all the MK games. The 3D games were just epic fails and without legit button Combos the 1st two games felt very lacking compared to UMK3.

I never cared much for MK3-UMK3. Not because of gameplay, that was fine and solid. Everything else was shit though.
Story - Why the HELL did they introduce technology into the Asian Mythology? I don't want robots and shit running around with my Chinese Monks and ninjas. I don't want to run around the streets and subways of New York or wherever. I want to be in OutWorld or in some Asian temple. Lame.
Character Design - What...the...FUCK. Sub Zero was a goofy looking white guy, Shang Tsung looked like a pro wrestler (same goofy white guy) and everything was just cheesy as shit. No Raiden? Come on, now.
Fatalities - Gone were the brutal killings and in with the massive comedy let downs. Fail.
Animalities - Fail.

I used to like UMK3 but playing online in MAME killed it for me.
I get that it's the most technically adept of the early series (Kung2broken's guide is highly detailed in that respect) but its too frustrating to play.
Get knocked down? Someone dashes in and pummels you. Yet when you try it the other player either jumps away or uppercuts you. It's endless dashing and other shit that seems impossible to defend against.
Apparently to stand a chance online, you need to know boring shit like exact frame data for jabs, "chip damage", recovery animations...christ. You may as well put "I'm a bit of a nerd" in the lifebar.
