Mortal Kombat has always been a game that had to beat out all of the odds no matter what. Mortal Kombat 2 was considered as the best MK game through MK1-4 series.

Now lets fast forward to the present time. Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance has been out for some time now and it offers features that the previous ones didn't.

*You can implale weapons into your enemy.
*Three unique fighting styles per fighter.
*New broard characters such as oni and vampires.
*3-D interactive emvironments in some levels.
*Konquest Mode that enables you to learn about your fighter moves and some of their past history.
*A krypt that enables you to use koins you earn to buy various items such as hidden fighters.

Now as of today do you consider MK2 as the best of all MK games or do you think Deadly Alliance is superior of them all.

I do consider MK: DA the best MK game out. Mostly because the great new fighting engine, cool fighting styles, good plots, good story, Frost*, good graphics, and good new controls. Its a great game to me , because of that I think MK: D will be far better, since the MK team is going all out with MK: D. Me myself I don't consider MK2 my fav of the 2-D MK games, now I am not saying it is bad I just love MK3 so much better. To me the combos speed up gameplay and overall the game was better as a whole when compared to MK2, but that is just my POV. To me overall the MK games mostly have gotton better with each one the MK team puts out, I hope it stays this way for years to come.

As a loooong time MK fan, I can honestly say...FUK YA!! At first, I was a little intimidated with it considering all the fighting styles and weapon possibilities, but once I got the hang of it I was blown away by how huge it really is.

This game finally beats out MK2 in my book.

blah, every single MK has been an evolution of some sort. If anything I'd say the biggest jump was MK3. It was the first game with comobs. Before you'd just hit the guy once or twice as hard as you could (like with that brutal uppercut).

I should just prepare for the flames now, but I still consider MK4 the pinnacle of the series......don't hurt me.

I don't look at different games in the series in terms of "superiority"; I just look at them as different. They all have a unique feel, in terms of both gameplay and ambience. I will always have respect and honor for MK1, since it started it all. In MK2 I liked the dark atmosphere, and I think it had the best fatalities. These first two, though, feel a little slow compared to the later games, which I now find a bit irritating. I liked MK3's combo system and faster pace; however, I must say that its fatalities were a little weak, as many had the same explosion animations. While MK4 tends to get a bad rap, I found it to have some of the best playability in the series, despite the weakness of the "3D" gameplay and graphical stiffness of the characters. However, I found MKDA to be the most fun to play, mainly because of the much deeper fighting system and much-improved 3D movement. I also enjoyed the depth of the story. The fatalities were an improvement over MK3 and 4, but not quite as good as they were in MK2 (in some cases, like Quan Chi's, they just outright sucked). I think MKDA is a milestone because it signifies a rebirth of the series; it's the most revolutionary advancement in both gameplay and storyline yet.

I've only played the GBA version of the game, and if the console versions are *anything* like it, I'd have to say it beats out *any* MK game out there. Period. MK: DA for GBA was already a surprisingly awesome game, losing none of its playability or graphic sheen in the conversion to portable format. True, the weapon moves are reduced to special move status, but everything else is flawless. Very well done, especially with the true-3D movement in the game.
