Basically just give your review on every MK game classic.
Point out what was the downpoint of the game and the highpoint.

That's hard to do. MK 1 was revolutionary at the time. MK2 was a huge improvement over that. MK3 and UMK3 were huge improvements in gameplay and interestingly different as far as their looks.
MK1's graphics were similar to other games out but those other games never had the same level of Detail and as well developed of an overall look. Its gameplay was interesting, if limited. I really did not enjoy playing MK1 a whole lot at the time, because things seemed incomplete. But, its music kicked ass.
MK2 had amazing graphics, sound, music, characters, everything. The gameplay was fun but again, limited. Massive damage was too easy to do, it was slow, and overall its formula of gameplay favored turtling over being aggressive which I think is a bad direction for a fighting game to take.
MK3 had speed, great comboing, and an overall improved gameplay system obviously more targetted at being a real competative game. They added run for speed of gameplay, and, very importantly, added damage protection. On top of that they seriously tweaked the gameplay as revisions came out, leading up to the final version of UMK3. They changed move properties and timings and really built the game up to the best MK gameplay wise.
All 3 of the original games were really one development line. MK1 laid the groundwork and developed the concepts. MK2 fully developed the graphics, the mechanisms behind fatalities and special moves, and opened up the system to more in depth comboing and UMK3 more fully developed the gameplay with a formal combo system and overall better gameplay.
So MK1 is like a beta test for fatalities and special moves and an alpha test of gameplay.
Mk2 is a beta test of gameplay and a finished product of fatalities and specials.
UMK3 is like a final version of the whole thing.
Except it never really got to a final version. There are still a lot of balancing tweaks that would make UMK3 better. But, sadly they never happened. If only Wavenet had taken off. It had additional balancing tweaks over regular UMK3 and if it was successfuly perhaps there would have been further gameplay alterations to improve the system.
MK4, well, it sucked. It was an alpha test of everything except the graphics engine and it suffered badly because they were not entering the relatively unexplored territory they were with MK1. They were entering territory where they were just another fighting game without too much to set them apart. Perhaps if they had continued developing one series of 3D games like they had the 2D games, we'd end up with an MK6 that was really great. But, instead they ditched focus on developing the gameplay and we get MKD and MKDA, which have very well developed graphics and bonuses, but have extremely undeveloped gameplay. Good by Tourny Worthy MK.

Mortal Kombat - I really enjoyed the game when it first came out. Wasn't obsessed or anything with it. It was one of those games that I just played. You had Street Fighter II, MK and others. MK wasn't hard to play, nothing to really make you think and of course it had the blood. It wasn't the greatest game and I knew that.
Thinking now. I don't play MK 1. I just can't sit down an play it. Its too slow. And what was cool then, just isn't anymore.
Mortal Kombat II- Better than MK and set a dark mood. I liked it but again it was more of the same. Great looking fatalities, not hard to get into and it was fun for the most part. Lots of secrets which was great.
Thinking now. Its the same with MK I. I just can't play it for long periods of time. Its just too slow. A lot of people hail it as the best MK but I don't. I can't. My love is for UMK 3 lol.
MK3/UMK3-The only game that has hooked me for ten plus years, and drove me to purchase an arcade machine of it. Its fast paced, fun to play. Lots of characters, combos, oooh I love it.

I probally should of put this in the top but i was in a hurry this morning.
Anyway....
MK1- Was basically the game of all games at the time, it was what started the MK series. Cause at the time no one cared about the speed and graphics, just the gameplay. Cause everyone loved the fact that you could rip out a heart or rip out a spine, which really made MK so popular. Cause other games wouldn't show such things in there games at the time. True MK1 was slow and a bit off on graphics, but liked i said no one cared then.
MK2- A great improvement for MK1, as far as detail and speed. MK2 was like MK1 but introduced more characters to the game, which made the fans love it more. A whole new set of moves and fatalitys made gameplay more fun.
MK3- Seemed to be a bad day for MK. Some people didn't like the new combo system and the controls, but MK3 was built for speed. Personally I loved th combo system, but I don't control everyones opinion.
UMK3- Didn't get to play this one sorry.
MKT- My personal favorite, The complete roster from the past games and new characters. The combos were simple to learn, for me anyways. The speed of the game was great, The way you could create you own combos not put in the game. The new Fatalitys/ Brutalitys/ Babalitys/ Animalitys were very cool. To sum it up i thought it was GREAT.
MK4- One of MK's worst, it did not get a good feedback. I hardly liked it myself, but it was in 3-D so that was a step up. They were working with new equipment, so they had no idea what they were doing. The end videos were a nice addition to the game, but didn't help it.
Thats My Reveiw.

MK1:
Good: Ninjas! Fatalities!!
Bad: only 7 characters
Ugly: All fatalities were essentially a different way to decapitate someone.
Mk 2:
Good: Great cast of characters, Tons of surprises, tons of finishers
Bad: Poor balance. Kitan and lui kang were too powerful.
ugly: ummm, can't think of one...
Mk 3:
Good: Combo system, animalities
Bad: Roster, a day too late
Ugly: No ninjas....
Mk3 (Ultimate)
Good: Better roster.
Bad: Just an updated version of MK3
Ugly: Rain was a fake character, until MK trilogy
Mk trilogy:
Good: Tons of content
Bad: Load times (Ps2 version) No goro and kintaro (N64 version)
Ugly: Anyone see Street fighter 2 rehasharia here?
MK 4:
Good: ....um....the way the announcer says Fatality...
Bad: Some stuff
Ugly: The rest....
