My fave one timer was Kai. I thought he had a hype look, cool fireball special moves and a decent weapon. Even his ending was cool, and if he comes back he should have Raiden's lightning staff - to give him some inital credibility, since he is pretty much hated on by many fans...

I actually like quite a few of the less well established characters. Mavado is my second favourite MK character in the series, and I also really like Nitara. Would Stryker and Kai count too, since they each basically appeared in one game, plus updates for those games?

Like MKD did with bringing back guys like Jade, Kabal etc, I hope MK7 brings back at least some of these characters, as well as keeping Kira, Havik and maybe an improved Darrius (didn't care for most MKD newbies).

For some reason all my favorite characters are the low budget ones. I thought Mavado was really kick-ass and should have been brought back in MKD. After all, he did kill Kano, and you have to be pretty harcore to pull that off. Hsu Hao is another one. Since I don't really pay attention to the MK storyline, the character's background and everything doesn't matter to me. I just liked using a character that had a lot of grappling moves. MKD is really lacking in terms of fighters who use grappling fighting styles. I also liked Nitara a lot. She was hot and essential to Reptile's storyline, and Reptile is a pretty popular MK character. I hope Kira wasn't a low budge character and that she returns in the next MK.
