Gawd, help me! Impossible AI in Mortal Kombat II (MAT2)

posted03/10/2005 05:41 AM (UTC)byI'm fighting Kintaro right now, in Midway Arcade Treasures 2. I had atleast 30 rounds trying to beat him with my mostly used characters, but it isn't happening.
I tried cornering him and keep jabbing him- this trick is good against this boss. Great, I did it one round but I couldn't do it again. Kintaro impossibly grabs and throws me.
No matter what I do with Rayden, Mileena or Baraka, Kintaro has the highest priority in any attack against him. I could do the blade chop with Baraka and Kintaro will just step in and uppercut me or throw me. Mileena? Forget it, her moves are pathetic against Kintaro. I can roll from one end of the screen towards him and he'll grab and toss me.
How the hell do I beat Kintaro?? I never had problems in the arcade or on Snes. I have the game on pause right now. Please help, someone?

there is another way too, works with anyone. jump kick him, and while he's down take one step back and jump kick him again when he get's back up, step back again ect ect ect. Over and over. I'm serious this gets him all the time. It doesn't work like that unless you step back though. It might be some weird AI bug

Thanks Taker and Stryker, but none of those were successful.
taker- After reading your method, I went back to the game, picked Kitana and guess what. I nearly beat Kintaro on the first round with a flawless victory, but he horribly retaliated and beat me. The fans are a good idea but Kintaro is still his cheezy little bastard self.
Stryker- I've been trying that since the day I fought Kintaro in MK2, but that doesn't work often. Kintaro will always stomp or toss a fireball when he knows he's getting whooped.
But I have finally beaten Midway Arcade Treasure's MKII. This version of Mortal Kombat II is so much harder than all other MKIIs I play. Ed Boon's mathematics education is rediculous. He's overflowed the CPU with malicious codes to make it nearly impossible to beat the game in miinutes. I spent 2 fucking hours with frustration trying to pass Kintaro. Shang Tsung wasn't a problem, Shao Kahn wasn't a problem. Kintaro was a major error that took time to figure out. But I finally cheated my ass off using Baraka and his blade chop.
Best method to beating Kintaro in MAT2 pplz, is Baraka. Jump toward him as the round starts, and catch him with a late air punch quickly followed by the blade chop. Jump away from Kintaro when you feel he's about to attack, and keep repeating this method. You'll eventually get the concept of this method, you may learn it your way.
Here are pics I took beating Kintaro and Shao Kahn. Btw, Before I fought Shang Tsung, I went up to Jade (using LKs on Raiden). Jade wasn't hard at all!
Right here, the friggin' music stops.
reeeeeeeewind.....
