Has anybody here played as Noob Saibot in Wavenet UMK3 before?

I was recently working on some cheats for UMK3 rev 1.2 for the arcade in MAME and I accidentally turned my character into Noob Saibot. Or at least I assume it was Noob Saibot. The pallet stayed the same as the character I was originally using, but the actual sprites were of a ninja. The ninja had no special moves but had his own autocombos. For instance, hp, hp, lp did 2 axes then uppercut while hp, hp, d+lp, hp did 2 axes, the d+lp motion from smoke's popup and then an uppercut. The character also walked extremely fast.

So, I think it was actually Noob, and I believe this means they had already started programming him to be playable or else I would not have been able to use him and he wouldn't have had autocombos, but I could be wrong about that. For instance, I also turned my character into Motauro and Shao Kahn and they were totally unuseable, they just stuck there not moving. And, when I turned into Shao Kahn, the 2nd player (who was originally human controlled) automatically became computer controlled.

So, if anybody out there has played UMK3 wavenet, let me know what combos Noob had so I can compare to the autocombos built into UMK3.

I never played the WaveNet version but yeah i did the same as you did and discovered that Noob Saibot was in the game just very, very incomplete. He had his "own" combos just no special moves.

I am pretty sure he has HK HK LK B+HK, and HP, HP, HK, LK, B+HK, or something to that effect, which would be his CPU combos. It's possible he has another combo that the CPU doesn't use as well. I think any character the CPU can use in game is usable for a person via cheats. Rain is not because he is not actually in the game itself, but just has 3 preprogrammed movements for the intros. His name doesn't even display properly because they used actual game text, and not an image for his name like everyone else has.

Awesome, I hadn't seen the other thread yet with the fatalities on bosses and all that crazy stuff.

I basically looked through memory for the variable saying what character Shang Tsung was morphed into and the flag that told him to morph back to normal, disabled the flag, and put in a cheat to change the other value and it could change any character into any other character. However, doing it this way, Motauro and Shao Kahn are not playable. Only Noob is (and I haven't worked out yet what memory address sets the pallet). If you have any info you think would help, please let me know. I'd like to play around a bit with this.

Oh yeah the RAIN code will not work at all. It'll cause not only the game to crash but sometimes MAME as well.

I have the code for MK3 as well if you need it.

No this is fine. I love tinkering with this stuff, its hilarious what you find.

The only other thing I'd be interested in are the pallets and how you figure out where they are located.

I have the wavenet machine, and yes Noob is playable. Start a 2 Player game, and choose Kano and before the fight begins hold Back, High Punch, Low Punch, Block, and Low Kick, and Kano will turn into the ninja Noob Saibot. He does have one special ability, and that was the Teleport Slam (Down, Up). Someone here said they had the Rain code, could you post it so I could try it.
