How do I beat Shao Kahn in UMK3/MKT?

This has been bugging me for years. I can beat everyone with relative ease in MKT(PS2)/UMK3(MAME) except for shao kahn himself. It seems like EVERY ROUND I get him down to 25% health and he pulls out an insane combo and just destroys me.
I just played him in about 25 matches in a row, and never even won a round. What strategy am I missing?

it's pretty easy.. subzero+freeze+uppercut+freeze+uppercut etc

How do you compensate the trade off on his fireball to 5 hit combo with that Sub-zero method...not exactly fool proof.
Anyways, here is how you beat Shao Kahn with characters who can run in after his tackle:
Shao Kahn Sucks
And for those of you who cannot seem to attack Shao Kahn after he charges, get him in the corner, you can run jab him to death and he'll never get out. Run jab is LP, cancel with run, repeat:
Shao Kahn Sucks More
For those of you who like fast paced action, beat Shao Kahn with a teleporter:
Shao Kahn Stands No Chance

I was always a fan of the very cheap Cyrax method of just hitting him with nets, doing a combo and repeat though I find it hard to accomplish in UMK3 because Shao Kahn will hit you with a fireball if there is the slightest hesitation in relaunching your net.

You can also beat Khan by using Sheeva. Just keep on blocking his projectiles and use her stomp. It works.

Yeah the stomp really shouldn't have done damage to them like a lot of containments don't do anything, or at least their specific properties to Shao Kahn in MK3/UMK3. MK3 Shao Kahn is way different, anyone can beat him by running up and comboing because he releases block on the last 1 or 2 hits everytime, so does Motaro. That was a dumb idea.

Damn, I haven't been up here in a long time. Anyway, you can also school his ass with Noob Saibot, as follows:
1. Perform his Black Orb (D,F,LP)
2. Run up to him and do this 4 hit combo (Lk,Lk,LK,LK)
3. Then do his Teleport Slam (D,U) and immediately follow that with an uppercut.
By then then the effects of the orb should be off. Just hit him with another one and perform the same procedure over and over again 'till he's dead.

I've beaten him many times using Sindel. Try and stay far from him and it'll be easier, except when you go in for the kill. Keep jumping back and doing the air fireball. Jump forward and press HP and then HP, HP, D+HP, JK, DF+LK. I do that repeatedly in the game. It is very easy with Noob Saibot because of his easy LK, LK, LK, LK combo. With Cyrax, I forget if the bombs work or not, but if they do, it's pretty easy. When you're letting the bombs out, try and jump back so you're not so close so that he could do a shoulder charge on you. When the first bomb goes off, let out a net, and when the second bomb explodes, get closer and do an uppercut. Let out another net quickly and do a ground combo and continue doing this. It's not extremely hard, but sometimes it takes me longer to kill Motaro than it does to kill Shao Kahn

2. Duck and press block if he charges.
3. Eventually he will charge upwards, this is your chance, uppercut him.
4. Run up and uppercut him as he is about to get up.

To beat Motaro with anyone, cross up jump punch, and get the first hit of a combo if he block, to get the only two available chip hits since the rest of the combo will not do any damage and increases your risk of being countered by him, this way it pushes him back far enough so he can't pick you up and you recover quickly. Repeat this and on occasion he will go for a punch as you cross up jump punch him, when he does that do a full combo but mash it out really fast because they tend to break on him and sometimes he blocks in the middle.

Not really. the fool-proof way to beat Motaro is with ANY character who has a combo that starts with HP HP (most characters) just simply jump back and forth repeatedly around him. For waht ever reason if you are air-borne enough, he doesn't attack often (if you sit in the corner he will slaughter you). Then, about once in every 5 - 6 jumps you will inevtibly land near/next to him. The key here is timing. Right as you are about to land just start SLAMMING on HP. About 30% of the time it will cut him off mid attack and you will get the HP jump-in and the first two HP's of the combo. At this point, start smashing the backwards jump button and the vast majority of the time he won't have time to hit you before you jump awawy.
Keep on jumping.
And when he does block your HP jump HP HP, no big deal, you still take a few % off him - just be sure to start mashing away-jump before he grabs you after blocking your combo.
