How do you play as Kahmeleon in mk trilogy? [64 version]

I've figured out how to play as Motaro, Shao Kahn, and human smoke and how to fight Kahmeleon but how do you play as her? The game section here says to tap out a combination in attract mode. What's attract mode?
A little help here.

During the story screen, press this combination really fast.

C-Left, C-Up, C-Right, C-Down, A, B, B, B, A, A. You will hear "Aww."

Then go the the Options and choose from the ?'s. I believe this is the only way to unlock her.

The more direct way to unlock her is to press C-Right, C-Up, A, B, C-Down, C-Up, C-Right. If it works, the announcer will say "Khameleon", and she'll be selectable at the "Select Your Fighter" screen.
