ya no it did say he almost won the fight but it was a 2 on 1 so it was extemely difficult

1. Shao Kahn is NOT a god. He's an Emperor. You may be confusing the 2nd MK Movie's plot with the game's plot. What they say in the movie isn't part of the game's plot, since they are handled by two independent teams.

2. The point of the Deadly Alliance was to join their power and form a stronger one.

3. They killed Liu Kang, and Liu Kang already vanquished Shao Kahn...so why not?

4. Quan Chi didn't kill a god, he killed Lucifer (or whatever you want to name him) in order to rule the Netherealm.

5. I don't remember the Dev Team saying Shao Kahn was definetely not dead. Last thing I heard was when the "late" MKIntensive.com said they had MK Dev Team information saying that neither Shao Kahn nor Liu Kang would be in MK6 since they were that, but most people don't believe those (although they also presented some statements that seemed very real, in a way that only the Dev Team should know them, but anywho...). Other from that, no one actually knows if Shao Kahn really is dead. IMO, I think that Shang Tsung and Quan Chi would know better than to leave one of their most powerful adversaries alive for that, upon recovery, he would have the power, the knowledge (since they no longer would have the suprise factor) AND the anger to destroy them, or even make an alliance with someone else to destroy them.
