Hsu Hao seems indestructable to me...what's the deal?
Been playing MKDA for a while now, watching this forum pretty regularly and playing matches with my friends at school. We've all gotten pretty damn good, pulling off some of the more advanced techniques and whatnot.
Anyways, until a few days ago we always dismissed Hsu Hao. We were playing random and a friend got Hsu Hao against me and discovered his impossible mixups. If he goes into wrestling and mixes it up with f+1, b+1, and f+SM, it is nearly impossible to guess what is coming at you. And even if you try to start a combo into him he can just pull a reversal and then go to town on your ass.
So I'm wondering if there is something I am missing here. has anyone else noticed how difficult it can be to win a match against Hao? Any tips on beating this mixup? Thanks...love all the tips here.

Heh, yah, Hao seams a bit underated from what I've seen. Then again some other peeps have talked highly of him. It all depends; the player, the style, etc. DA really hasn't been out for that long so characters are still showing their potential. It's just a cycle, so to speak. When T4 came out everyone was like, "Jin ownjoo for free". Then, the homosexual power of lee came out, heh. Then Nina started to show her goods. I wouldn't be surprised if Cyrax started to show potential....eh, well, maybe not . Peace and love ya'll.

With time, you can see whether Hsu is throwing high or with f+SM...kind of like when you've been playing Tekken forever and you just know if Jin/Jun's 3-Ring Circus in TTT is hitting High or Low, you can just tell.
He doesn't have all that much damage with any of his low attacks (Wrestling d+4) so with patience, you can wait him out...he makes plenty of mistakes.
Not that I'm saying that Hsu Hao is a bad character...he is top 10 easily.

No matter how much I concentrate I still can't escape his wrath. I don't really see any indicators that give me enough time to block low/high. And the thing is, by the time I'm getting up from getting slammed, he's already right next to me ready to f+SM or f+1 depending on whether I stand-block or crouch-block...seriously, I get raped by Hsu Hao and I don't know how to stop it.
And if you try to play the sidestepping game, his f+SM has a deceptive range that will take you off guard. I have yet to beat him, I will report back tomorrow after we play some more matches.

Let's just say this...always block standing unless you hear Hsu make that groaning sound when he does the f+SM low throw...then block low. Once you block either throw attempt, immediately retaliate or you will fall victim to another mixup.
try fighting against him on MAX.
He is b*tch on MAX, alwasy reverses ya, you gotta be careful when facing.
his weapon style is exactly the same as kano's.
So master Kano's butterfly knives, u mastered Hsu Hao's Sun-Moon Blades.
Kano seems underated!
Alot of peeps wanted him back in mkda, nowadays nobody talks about him!
Kano's awesome in mkda!
Powerup in aikido followed by his stlye brancher from aikido to butterfly knives

The best way to be able to stand a chance against a character is to practice with them. This way you can get a feel of the pace/speed of their attacks, and when you need to block high/low.
Also, if you get in trouble mid-fight, don't be afraid to run a little. When you do, any human fighter (as well as the computer) will become somewhat more aggresive when they have to chase after you. Now you have a better chance to counter or attack them off guard as they will be thinking attack before block.

Hsu Hao is ab*tch on MAX. Him and 3 other characters are the only ones on the game I have a problem with when fighting, although hes no match for Nitara, Raiden and Kung Lao!

yes i thought hsu hao was a shitty char, he was way underestimated, he is by far one of the best along with scorpion and sonya
The trick is to learn his style. It's best if you go into practise and learn how to pull off a few combos with him, as Konqrr and MrSchpmduf said.
Hsu Hao is my 3rd fave fighter behind Mokap and Sonya. He's definently one of the better ones, and he has some MAD weapon combos if u can master 'em.

I don't know what you mean with 'indestructable'. I have no problem to fight against or with him. The trick is, tha ́t you have to 'learn him'. If you know what he want to do, you can 'reversal' him, or 'step out'.
