I'm not used to three Endurances in a row. MK3 only had two.

Man Shang Tsung was so hard to beat. But I finally did it

'Cause I am like so friggin' serious! I know this sounds a bit odd to you guys, but that was my first time ever beating MK1. Oh, and for the record, those fireballs really pissed me the hell off!


Oh, did you guys know that the Goro's Lair music on MK1 is the same music on MK4?

You can avoid those by ducking

But yeah, MK1 was pretty easy. Shang was one of the easier battles I thought, Goro and the Endurance matches were harder.

The fireballs kept hitting the top of my head, and I lost some health!

If you were hit while ducking, that means you were holding block. Don't do that. A blocked Shang fireball is still powerful. Also try to limit your backward jumps, as he will almost always air juggle you with two or more fireballs. If you have trouble with Shang, then just duck and wait til he morphs into someone you can beat.

Yeah, I guess I was blocking too much.



The problem wasn't really Shang Tsung, himself. Other than the fireballs, he kept morphing into three distinct people that takes me forever to beat: Goro, Scorpion, and Johnny Cage.

Dude, MK1 isnt that hard, give it a break.

Hey, I'm not mad, or pissed or anything.

I'm just, um... I guess too happy. I've always wanted to see what it was like to beat the first MK game ever created.

To answer what first was going on I would say it takes about 10 minutes on the normal systems.

And about 15 minutes for PSP

I grew up playing the other ones, so they weren't so hard to beat. MK1 was the only MK game that was hard to beat. Strange, but true.

its not hard 4 me,during the endurance matches,i use sub-zero,and liu kang during goro,4 shang tsung,i use almost anybody...

I first played it back in '98 (around the time you turned 4). Stopped playing it in '03. Picked it back up this year. Finally Beat it. YAY!

wel im glad you have beaten the game without cheating. but i have to agree mk1 was the easyest one of them all. shang tsung can form a bit off a threat and the endurance rounds are hard but goro is all to easy to beat with sub-zero. and im talking about the arcade version (i have one at home) becaus mk on snes was so easy it makes me cry i play it on very hard and dont get beaten once not by reptile nor goro or shang tsung.

It was an easy game. 15 mins for compleation at the most.

Now MK2, THATS a challenge.

MK1 was easy for the most part. The Endurance matches were annoying, but I got through them pretty directly. Goro, I just beat him with Scorpion by using a his spear and then I would deliver an uppercut. Lather, Rinse, Repeat.

Shang was easy once you realized his pattern. His morphing didn't bother me. But, yeah, go to MK2 now. Now MK2 was a challenge for me. Welcome to a real challenge, lol.

today when i was playing mk1 on snes today i used sonya and liu kang and they said that i could use goro and shang tsung i used them on vs mode now when u get to goro on after the endurance 3 he may walk over and then do his punch uppercut so walk backward and do a projectile ataack to keep him off of you.when it says danger go up to him if u are using sub-zero do ur freeze move and then uppercut since u cant do a faltilte on the boss or sub boss u will get frozen if tsung turn into sub-zero he will do his uh ur freeze move on u .when im using kano on the mktrilgoy mk1 kano i just start on hard then normal then easy i played mk3 and umk3 when i was only 3 and passed mk1 when i was 2

Congrats man, it's not the easiest MK game but definitely not the hardest. It's still a classic to this day I love it : )
