What would you want in it?
I would want:
Online Play
The bosses to not be selectable
Chameleon and Khameleon
When you play single player whoever you fight is completely random
Use sprites from Sub-Zero Mythologies to make them into characters
A few new arenas
The Pit II fatality
Be able to play as classic versions of every character with the new versions but give the classic characters combos
All the stages from MK1 and music
Even out the characters to make it balanced
All the secrets from the MK games into one(except having to use the UKK codes) for example you can fight MK2 Jade in Goro's Lair and she will still be very fast
Some new tracks to fit the new arenas
The N64 MKT arenas
No looping with the arenas
Include all the finishing moves with all the old characters
That's all I can think of for now. Any ideas that should be added?

This is an interesting topic. If Mortal Kombat Trilogy were to make its way to the current systems, I would be one happy person.
What I hated the most about the Playstation version of the game is the load times. My God were they awful. So here is my list
-No Load times
-Crystal Clear Graphics, Every frame of animation
-Classic Characters, stages, moves, and secrets
-All MK music, grunts, groans
-ability to single out versions of the game and play whichever one you want
-online play
-toned down UMK 3 jade

-Completely new sprites of every MK fighter, from MK1 - MK: Deception

Maybe include those balancing acts that were described in the other thread. That'd be interesting.
The main thing I want is full arcade quality graphics. Match that up with UMK3 arcade quality gameplay for all characters. I think there could be a mode without the bosses being selectable as well since they are pretty stupid and not very well made. Either that or redo them to make them more playable.

Why don't you want the bosses to be selectable? Anyway, nothing that has been said needs to be said again, except the bosses should have VS screen poses and they should have running (complete with running animations, not a crappy walk fast).

I haven't decided completely what I would want in there, I have been thinking about it for a while now, trying to come up with some sort of way of expanding the UMK3 style gameplay to give it even more depth and entertainment value. I was thinking things like, for long combos, make it so if you reproduce what your opponent is pressing button wise as he's pressing it you can lower the damage and maybe even break the combo. They have the damage lessening like that in SFA3 I believe and I liked it there.
I would really like to reproduce UMK3 style gameplay in a system like MUGEN, only with online play, and then begin to test out additions to the gameplay system.
As for the Bosses not being in the game, I would really love an option to take them off of the select screen, even if they are still in the game. I would prefer to random select every match I play in the game, but do not want to end up as one of the bosses as they are terrible.

Bosses should be part of the secret code, if not they should just be dragon symbols on the bottom of the screen.

i wouldn't want the bosses to be selectable because it is easy to win against the computer with them and probably be able to win easily online(especailly with Motaro). maybe if there was a code to play as them that you can turn on and off and you can't play as them online i wouldn't mind that.

Maybe when you host a game you could just select "Bosses On" or "Bosses Off." Kinda like how you could turn off death traps when you host a game of MK6.

For example, one of the major problems with WWE Smackdown vs RAW's online matches is that there's now way to stop people from using created wrestlers with maxed-out stats. It sucks when you host a game, only for someone to join and use a custom-made Arn Anderson that has a 98 rating (higher than any "real" wrestler in the game, even old-school Undertaker) and a nonsensical moveset. A simple filter in the options when you host the game should take care of things like this.

When the guys I wrestle with have WWE game tournys they do shit like "No customs, default characters only, Old School Undertaker banned" but with online play, people are just little baby bitches.

Truthfully, these are the requirements Boon and his team should meet to make a much better Mortal Kombat Trilogy for future consoles. Keep the same fighting system and graphics as UMK3/MKT, but here's a longer list-
- Every fighter from MK-MKT. Include ALL versions of classics, but make them easily accessible by just pressing diff combinations on a character select screen picture (example: Left + High Punch while selecting Sub-Zero to get MK Sub and Left + Low Punch to get MKII Sub.) This would be awesome by playing as every character.
- Give EVERY SINGLE CHARCTER (even all the classics) combos.
- Every stage from MK-MKT with fitted music from past games
- All pit fatalities
- Bosses are only selectable through secret codes
- Maybe include some new fighters from MK4, DA, or D but in 2-D like the classics with combos and everything.
- Have all fatalities (even the corny stupid ones from MK3 and on for each fitted character.... for example, MKII Sub does his MKII fatals but the UMK3 Sub wouldn't).
- Just for the realism factor, instead of having boring body pieces for the robot explosions during fatalities, have robot parts. Also include four arms on Sheeva during skin rip/ burning fatalties. This would add value to the game,especially realism. Can get rid of the million legs/arms too. Have bodies fall during decaps and such. - Charater poses during fatalities. For example, I hated how Scorpion would do his Toasty in UMK3 and remain in the same position. Have winning poses.
Long and greedy list I must say, but it would be a PEFRECT Trilogy.
