Johnny Cage died in MK3, came back to fight, and his soul left right? then how is he in the other games? somebody help me

In Mortal Kombat, no one dies. Everyone comes back, as John Vogel said. They always have a way for everyone to come back.

I hope this changes after Armaggedon.

In MK4 Raiden fully resurrected Johnny Cage to help fight Shinnok's forces.
However, Cage's entire death and resurrection has been retconned out of existence by John Vogel...so Johnny Cage actually never died at all.

Until MK:DA anyway...
