To me, the MK1 pictures look more crisper, and cleaned up than from the original arcade. I haven't seen anything from MKII, or MK3, but does anyone else who has seen MAT2 clips of the MK games agree with me?

Actually putting the whole title thread lured me in now since I know what it's about now. :)
Yes, they do look a bit more polished. It could be from a few things though other then the games getting slighty touched up.
1. Smaller pictures always look better then big pictures. The MK1 arcade monitors were 25" and the pics on gamespot are small. So that could be one reason.
2. Maybe the tv that is providing the pictures is a high end tv and it's hooked up by component cables which will smooth stuff out and lessen color bleed, etc.
But they do look smoother/more polished to me also.
All I know is mine will look good with component hook-up and my tv. :)

The pictures I have seen are only from MK1, they are 100% identical to the arcade to the pixel, compensating for lost quality from jpeg conversion and whatever method they use to get them, the screens I saw are lower quality than ones we can produce. Here are examples:
Arcade
MAT2 Screen Grab
Arcade
Mat2 Screen Grab
At least we can see they are going to be arcade perfect in graphics quality. Has there been any mention of sound or anything?

Looks extremely close. The arcade still appears a little cleaner and more polished, but after all it is the original game that they're converting from. It might just be the quality of the screenshot too.
At any rate, this all looks good enough for me. FIGHT!

They are from Mame, the color difference you are referring to is the jpeg conversion saved at like 75% quality, when I resaved my Mame pictures as a test they looked exactly like the MAT2 Screen Shots. I saved them as gif to prevent any furhter bleeding and stuff, however there is still like a 2% loss from the original snaps, I didn't bother saving as bmp or png.

Yeah that's cause of the dithering/bleeding, it's brighter in the original jpeg, almost as bright as the Mame shot. They are the same, no worries.

Indeed. Very good news.
