I know it wasn't an arcade game, but is it the quality of an arcade game, if it had been?

I have it on the N64, Saturn and PSone. None of these versions have good graphics. The Psone sprites are small and jpeg-like when compared to the MK game in MAME.

Bascially I am asking, does Mortal Kombat Trilogy on PC have better qualty, larger sprites than the PlaySation version?

I havent seen the PC version in a while but I remember not seeing much difference between MKT for PSX and MKT for PC except that the graphics were clearer on the PC, thanks to the VGA monitor. They looked pretty much the same if you've ever seen the PSX version on a monitor instead of a TV, at least from what I can remember.

Honestly, none of the home versions of MKT were arcade quality...my UMK3 for sega saturn is closer to arcade quality then MKT on any platform including PC.

How is the loading on the PC version? That's what kills my fun with the PSX version I have.

The graphics in MKT for PC are piss poor.
You'd think the MK Team used their brain and said "Hmm, Computers are a hell of a lot faster and hold more than the consoles, lets boost up the graphics for it." But no. They didn't. They were stupid once again.

:( Oh well, I was going to try to track it down if it looked any good.

Btw, what version was used to make those combo videos that have been around lately? That looked better than how I remember the PSone version. That's why I thought that perhaps MKT on PC looked better.

i believe the pc version of MKT was just a port of the PSX version, so there really is nothing better about it. Although loading times are really quick.

I've always wondered why they never made MKT using the DOS version of the MK3 engine, this version seems to have higher res graphics and larger sprites, although it didn't have transparency effects and only 256 colours, but i'm sure some smart coding could have had it in windows & with 16mill colours

The combo vid that MK2KungBroken and I made used some Trilogy for PSX. KungBroken (aka EWAShock) did all the Trilogy work and recorded them at their full quality (not how they look on a TV set because most TVs are lower res then the game is).

I watched the 2 videos again and realised that for some reason I thought the whole thing was trilogy, when it was only the Trilogy parts that were, umm.... Trilogy!

It still looks better than I have seen MKT on the PSone, and that is despite me using EPSXE to play it on a much higer res on my PC. Infact it looks worse on the PC, or I am using the wrong driver... ANYWAY, that is another topic.
