You know what, I've wandered the same thing. If anything, I think the Toasty! Man is part of the method for something IN UMK# to either fight, or play as Rain. This is just a theory, and nothing more. I've tried everything I can think of when that guy pops out, and nothing works. If anything does ever happen, I'll let you know. Have you seen the "Frosty!!" Man too. He appears in a couple of ways. If someone is in Danger and you freeze them as any Sub-Zero, or if you are playing as the unmasked Sub-Zero and do his Overhead Fatality, the Toasty man appears, and sings "Frosty!!" The Fatality version happens randomlly I think.

Should have stayed as fight Smoke(Cyber) if you press down+start when he appears or a way to fight Noob besides the kombat kode. I think he's only there now to be annoying.

He appears after uppercuts, and combos, and of course the frosty quote on the danger freeze.

There is no way to fight Rain, I'm saving you a lot of heartache by informing you of this, if you wanna keep trying going ahead, but in this case, persistance is futile.
