I was playing MK2 Online my PS3 and I was playing someone who could do the following...

As Jax -- he did THREE ground pounds in a row. I know he didn't hold the button long enough to do them all.

As Liu Kang -- he did TWO bicycle kicks, one after another, and like Jax, I know he couldn't have held the button long enough.

Is it possible that people can cheat online? If so... how and why?

People who cheat online are mostly considered spammers. Spammers are people who do the same exact move over and over again to where the other person cannot fight back, block, or try to get out of the spot their in therefore losing the match in such a horrible manner.

Those who do not play fair should not be saying to their friends or little sibblings that they're good at MK because if one shall continuously spam a move over and over again, they're not true fighters.

The reason why they would cheat online is so that afterward, they can be a little asshole and brag about it on the chat board claiming that they "pwn sum no0b" making more people believe that the user that they've cheatedly beaten" sucked, when it is clearly the "bragger" who sucked because they did not play fair. You fight back and argue that they spam, they'll become more ignorant towards that user and insult them for no reason.

This is why I quit playing MK vs DC online because of the reason that I have just explained and due to the fact that there are just not a lot of good players that are on anymore as well as the fact that I do not have my PS3 with me at the university I go to.

So, I hope that was a reasonable explanation about those who cheat and why they cheat.

There are many 'after market' ps3 controllers that have 'unique quick-fire triggers' so yes it is possible to cheat by not holding down LK to charge for a bike kick or a ground punch. This is similar to MK pc games in which you can assign one button to complete an entire task normally required by multiple button pressing configurations. You can either cry about it, laugh about it, or adapt to it. Beating a cheater feels twice as good IMO.

its not cheating. you could do that on the original arcade games. I own UMK3 arcade machine and its just a simple trick. You hold down the button for the proper time, then instend of letting go of the button you switch fingers quickly. If you do it right the computer will both register you let go to triger the move but will still consider you holding the button down. letting you do one rapid fire after the other. I will admit its Cheezy but you could do it in the arcade.

I'm a consistant player on MK2 online via PS3.
I played most if not all the players so far.

The double moves back to back would be called spamming cuz it's directly back to back but heres the thing.

With Lui Kang, to do the x2 bicycle kick, u hold 0 to do it. Once you take off for the kick, you immedietly hold 0 again so when you land, your taking off again.

One thing I seen online was something amazing. This one guy finished me off with like a 10 hit combo, I never even knew that was possible in mk2. That could have been a spam.
I do Kitanas 6 hit combo just fine, that keeps me going :)

People that use autofire are tools, but some people are just really fast, and after seeing someone do something, sometimes after some practice I've been able to what I thought was impossible with just the standard PS3 controller. I have seen some things that I have tried to replicate to not avail, but maybe I am just not fast enough. I was wondering if any one here as been able to pull them off without autofire:

Kitana's fan toss then kick and fan toss before the other play hits the ground after doing a fan lift while defending player is not on the edge of the screen.

Kitana's flying punch, then a fan throw, then another flying punch before the other play hits the ground.

Do a jump kick with Raiden, then do the flying god of thunder before Raiden or the defending player touches the ground.

A jump kick with Kung Lao, then the flying kick causing a double hit combo while both players are still in the air.

A stage fatality on the Kombat Tomb, then a friendship.

One question about spamming in MKII, would you consider a two to three hit unblockable combo (when not using autofire) spamming? I wouldn't but I'm open to debate on the issue.
