1)Sindel's Star Scream fatality was translated as a fatality for Fujin, only Fujin uses the power of strong winds to rip apart the flesh of his opponent.
2)Jade is one of the hardest opponents to defeat in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and Mortal Kombat Trilogy and, thanks to a temporary invulnerability to projectiles and a punishing 7-hit combo.
3)When the first bits of information about Mortal Kombat: Deception began to surface, Ashrah was mistaken as a female version of Raiden
4)Ermac was supposed to return to Mortal Kombat: Deception as Kenshi's mentor, but this concept was quickly abandoned as it didn't make sense to do so.
5)Before Sonya existed, Jax was originally conceived as a character and possessed her scenario for the first Mortal Kombat. However, since there were no female characters in the original roster at the time, Sonya was created and she inherited his story line, ie pursuing Kano and becoming trapped on Shang Tsung's island.
6)The name Hotaru (z^) is Japanese for firefly, which his outfit reflects the exoskeleton of an insect. His special attacks evoke a firefly's glow and power of flight.
There'll be more soon.

Wow all of those I didn't know except for the Hotaru's name one. I took a Japanese name quiz & it said my name would be Hotaru.

Actually, the Ermac one they kept as his alternate in Deception.
They wanted to make ermac mentor/teacher like looking at the same time while changing his look.

Jax, at least as we know him, was not an MK1 concept. Sonya's place and story in MK1 was originally going to go to a male special forces character called Kurtis Stryker (probably not the same person as MK3's SWAT cop).
Apart from the fact that he was male and military, we know nothing about what this character might have been, no art or design notes have ever been revealed. For all any of us know, he could have been a skinny 5ft ginger Scotsman or something.

That was pretty much common knowledge stuff.
Except of course Jade being the hardest opponent in UMK3/MKT which is straight up 100% wrong.

1) I never played MK4.
2) You're crazy. Jade, well, at least with the PS version, never does the projectile shield or that 7-hit combo.
3) I think Midway wanted Ashrah to be a goddess but was scrapped due to some plot twist and they made her a demon.
4) Erm, that would be plain wierd.
5) Another Midway conflict. That and Boon would be beaten by feminists
6) Last time I checked, Hotaru never had the power of flight, or I forgot.
Few things you missed:
Noob Saibot=Tobias Boon.
There was a dog-like creature meant for MKMSZ but again was scrapped. Found this on The Kombat Pavillion.
Stryker was meant to be the name for Jax, but they scrapped it and called him Jaxxon Briggs.
(Midway always scraps things)
Johnny Cage's name is Jonathan Carlton.
Sektor was called Ketchup and Cyrax was called Mustard.
They had a beta name for Smoke, think it's called Relish.
ALL OF THESE ARE FACTS! Any veteran will know these.

2) VERY TRUE!!! at least in the N64 version, she is indeed the ABSOLUTE hardest of the "choosable" characters
3)I always thought that ashrah's look was originally ment for sindel... because of that sketch that shows her with long hair with similar colors to sindel's...
5) I heard both versions... about stryker and about jax... I really don't kno which one is true
