I've gotta ask about Kung Lao's dive kick. I know it is a versatile move with many uses. But for some reason, I have never been able to perform the move consistently. Sometimes I can get one in easy after a normal jumpkick, but other times it just doesn't seem to come out. I feel stupid asking this because it is just d+HK, but are there special conditions for doing this move the right way? Do you have to be a certain distance above the ground? Does the move change if you're jumping back, forward, or straight up? Does holding Down rather than just tapping Down affect anything? I would use Kung Lao much more often if I could just pull off this move with consistency.

You can hold down for a good amount of time and then hit HK in the air if you are doing a lone kick, this might make it easier to pull off and you also more easily decide when you want to do one. You can do it virtually any height off the ground, a good mind game tactic is jumping and then instantly landing on the ground a step in front of you by canceling the jump as soon as it happens with a dash kick. I really don't know how to explain it because I can't seem to not be able to get the dive kick to happen. I just got spin, juggle with HP, JK, dive whiff, 14 hits 81% three times in a row without even thinking about it, making Jax juggle higher each time.

I generally use that jump kick move when an opponent throws a projectile at me or when I start the round off. I don't use it that much, but it is a great move. I'm sorry I can't answer your question.

Actually I think I figured out my problem. My issue lied in holding the joystick in the diagonal position. I just tried it again, and as long as I didn't have any left or right input at all (just straight down) the move came out every time.

I think a long time ago, I had it in my head that you had to hold a diagonal direction if you jumped forward. I think I read it in some magazine a while ago and it stuck in my head. That had been throwing me off ever since.

I was always wondering why I had trouble pulling this off. Thanks for the tips!
