After playing the original MK with the Deception Kollectors edition, it got me in such an urge to play all the older Mortal Kombat games. I'm just wondering if anyone here has heard anything on the next MAT compilation?

I'm really hoping we get an arcade perfect port of "Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3", and a Dreamcast port of "Mortal Kombat Gold" on the new one. Just to finish off the collection. Good lord, Midway could release a disk with just those 2 for $20 and I'd buy it. Although I'd doubt we'll ever get Gold as it's an "arcade" treasures disk. I'd be happy with just UMK3 and MK4.

Sorry if this thread was done before.

i agree it'd be sweet....but like you said it'd be doubtful to see mk gold...if they did that then why not do mk trilogy as well instead of umk3......and you can always buy the ps1 versions of mkt and mk4....not arcade by far...but fun none the less

Well, see, that's the thing. They CAN put MK4 on it, because MK4 actually DID come out for the Arcade. So if they DID make MAT3, then UMK3 and MK4 Arcade Ports could be possible, maybe even probable.

is there anyway that Killer Instinct 1 and 2 could be put on the compilation?

because I think that Primal Rage was not created by Midway, so if Midway had the rights for PM, why would they not be able to have the rights for KI?

Midway put Primal Rage in there because they distrubted the arcade version, though the game is still techincally Atari's. Midway had to pay Atari some loyalty to get the game in there. As far as Killer Instinct, Midway did indeed distrubte it to the arcades. But the main problem is that nobody knows if Nintendo or Rare owns the Killer Instinct license. If Rare owns it, then Kiler Instinct 1 and 2 can only be put in the XBoxXbox 2 version and if Nintendo owns it, they can only be put in a Gamecube/Revolution version. I don't think Midway would want to do that.

They could make up for the botched job for MK1 2 and 3 by remaking MKT in arcade quality standards, with netplay. =)

They have to put Mortal Kombat Trilogy (PST) in the collection along with Mortal Kombat Gold

This games are more complete that UMK3 and MK4 -

They just have to fix the bugs. Ahhh the bugs... MKG make me crazy with so much bugs.

Midway put Primal Rage on MAT2 because they bought out Warner Interactive(who owned the Atari Games arcade brand name) in the late 90's.

If they do a MAT 3 I want to see UMK3, MK4, Primal Rage II and RUSH & Rush 2049.

As long as it isn't a crappy version with a lot of bugs in it, it would be fine to have if it came out.
