SSBM is deeper than MKDA..infinitely.
Well..maybe not infinitely..but it is.

Cuz I play both games dude. Don't let the kiddy image fool you..there is a lot more to SSBM than you think. DA is just mix ups and advanced mind games..SSBM is more than just that.
Wava dashing, spacing is more important etc. Just go to smashboard.com and read up. I am quiet dated when it comes to SSBM stuff since I quit when DA came out, but they could let you know what's up.
T4 is deeper than both tho.

LOL!!! I was like WTF?!?! Are you serious?
BTW, SSBM "IS" deep, oddly enough. You can do some crazy shit in that game.

how are you judging this? i mean, t4 is jin cheese all day with not much more. are you judging it by high level play, move lists, special moves, wha? if it's by moves lists which most people judge depths of fighting games with, mkda would be deeper than ssbm.
give examples. i'm curious.

Move list means shit when 80% of the moves in MKDA(literally 80%) are pointless. There is just more to SSBM and T4.
Lots of chars can beat Jin in T4 as well. Like nobody can beat scorpion

80% of the move lists in t4 go out the window aswell. but i don't think you understand. 80% of the move lists in every fighting game are pointless. including virtua fighter. yet it's still considered the deepest 3d series. why? because of the move lists and the amount of shit you can do.
"Lots of chars can beat Jin in T4 as well. Like nobody can beat scorpion"
yet everybody STILL picks lame ass jin for tournies. in mkda, you'll see reptile and brc. t4, nada. jin jin jin jin jin. have you seen this years evo dvd? it's literally like watching the same t4 match over and over with no variety in the moves.
i know nothing about ssbm but i'm curious how it's played.

A lot, lot, lot more moves are useful in T4 than they are in MKDA. Look at Hwoarang..even Christie and Ling.Id say even steve is deeper than the deepest MKDA char and he's shallow as fuck.
SSBM is just deeper dude..read up on it. Just cuz mario is in it dont mean shit.

i know t4 is deeper. it has more moves. depths of fighting games always have and always will be based on the amount of shit to do in the game. just because you don't utilize the entire move set in mkda doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
you said 80% of the move list is pointless in mkda and go on to mention t4 characters who are pointless in competitive play. i don't understand what you're getting at. are you basing depth on high level play? i hope not. ssf2t has always been considered deeper than every 2d mk game. yet it uses the same cheese in high level play. like ryu's corner trap that uses only 2 or 3 moves. it all comes down to moves in the game for depth and always will.
ssbm, i have no clue. never played it and probably never will. what i have read though, it doesn't have that many moves. so i'm asking you what makes it deeper than mkda? if it comes down to balance and the amount of moves used, doa3 will be up there as the deepest fighter. but we all know that isn't the case.

SSBM posseses features that MKDA lacks
Multi tiered stages, exchangeable weapons, a deep ring out game, better specials, a point system,a better throw game, it's possible to win at SSBM just by playing "better" than your opponent...
there's a ton of strategy involved
SSBM is doing things that MKDeception is just now doing....do not underestimate this game.
SSBM is considered to be the second best fighter for a reason.

I'm going by what EGM, G4TV, 1UP, etc. say...
They did a poll on the top fighting games of all time.
SC2 was first
SSBM second
VF4 third
Tekken fourth
MK (all of them) fifth
this is popular belief according to certain sources...V Games and MLG just prove that...
the games for V Games were picked according to popularity and by what is considered fair and balanced...
IMO SSBM and SC2 are two of the most well balanced games right now...GGXX is also condidered to be balanced.
If you are gonna play for $10,000 the game better be balanced....although any expert will say that no fighting game is balanced.

i'm surprised it didn't win the poll. nintendo fanboys are crazy and vote anything nintendo.
popularity doesn't mean good. it's hard to take polls seriously anymore when dbz got almost as many votes as vf4:evo for fighting game of the year in gamepro. 98% of fighting game players don't have a clue what's going on and you know it. where's street fighter on that list for god sakes?

I'll have to agree with Menthol on this one. Most people who play fighting games don't have the damnedest clue about them. Just look at the amount of noobs at the Deception forum. It's a howling pit of prepubescent kids screaming for the return of this or that character (usually lame palette swaps like Smoke or Rain), but hardly anyone mentions deep gameplay, more balancing, etc etc... That's a shame really. But of course, fighting games also need sales...

I believe that SC2 and SSBM are good though
I have fun playing them more than any other fighter with the exception of SF3S...yeah go to other forums for their respective games...
the fanbase for MK is almost all aesthetics and very little Hi level stuff...
Even th SSBM site basts having strategy sections and tier lists etc....
way more hi level info than this site has for MK...
no offense but I would say that less than 10% of the people that come to this site are interested in hi level play...

dood
thats exactly why I stopped playing DA
MKL totally killed that game for me...I hate it now.
yeah 3S is my favorite 2D game right now...although even that game can be boiled down to a few characters.
if you aren't playing Ken , Chun Li, Makoto or Yun you dont have a chance.
Although I have seen alot of good ,Urien, Alex, and Ryu players.

the 3s tier lists in japan are always changing. tier lists here like ken and chun, it's just because they're the easiest so to speak to be dominant. but japanese dominate with everyone. americans suck at street fighter period. hopefully that ps2 AE and 3S bundle is true and comes stateside. i'm fixin' for a real arcade port of 3s.
heh, yeah. playing mk isn't even fun when you have morons running(ruining) the game. mk to me is just pretty much a "fun" fighter anymore. i actually am turning into a "WHATZ YER FAV FAT4LITY?!" type of person. i'm keeping my main focus on street fighter now and don't even miss mk. which is sad because i used to love it so much. sometimes i try to beat myself up TO love it again but i doubt it'll ever happen.
