I was watching Enter the Dragon the other day - one of Bruce Lee's finest moments - when it dawned on me that the film and the game share a lot of things in common (well, except that in Entre the Dragon defeated opponents don't get their souls taken!)
A group of fighters taking part in a martial arts tournament held on an island that is hosted by a 'powerful' ruler.

Any further thoughts on this, (if this hasn't already been brought up)?

wink

Yep, I felt like I was watching an older MK that had the first MK game Liu Kang :)

And that big guy that the "Cage" of ETD was fighting at the end was like Goro.

Only it didn't have cool techno music at the beginning of the ending battle.

But anyways, that movie is still awesome.

Yeah MK definately has an Enter the Dragon feel. I think thats because they were obviously trying to make a game that captured many of aspects of the classic Kung Fu movies, which Enter the Dragon might be the pinnacle of.

The humor they put into the game makes it feel a bit more like Big Trouble in Little China, which also had a ton of classic Kung Fu movie aspects to it.

MK was inspired by a lot of other films, not just Enter the Dragon...

Well yes, you're someone right. In Mortal Kombat:Behind the Scenes book, Larry Kasanoff said that he wanted Mortal Kombat to be in a mix between Enter the Dragon and Star Wars.
