MK Trilogy for PSX, Running on PS2.. **Please Help**

Ok, I realize that this game has known incompatabilities with the PS2. Below are the issues with it that I know of:

1. Game freezes if you let the Continue counter go down to 0.

2. Certain Shang Tsung Morphs make it freeze.

However, I am experiencing something that up until know I have not heard of... The game itself plays fine. After I beat Shao Kahn (Doesnt matter who I use), the little death movie plays, and I get the 'congratulations' note. Then the screen darkens, and I hear music, and that's it...It freezes.

Normally I would expect to see the 'choose your treasure', or my character's ending...but nothing at all.

I know its a stretch, but has anyone encountered this before, and if you got around it, how did you?

I really want to resolve this..

My PS2 is the new SCPH-50001 unit.

umm yeah i had the same problem with mine.Nothing really you can do kinda sucks to.But on mine when the clock ran down to 0 it still worked fine and didnt freeze.I play mkt on my xbox the since i had it modified so i dont have my ps2 anymore.

Well, buddy... Call me crazy, but I thought that game alone is worth not hocking my PSX... Sorry, but PS2 has it's SP1 engine flaws... If you love the game so much, buy a cheap ps1 and enjoy yourself.

When DreemerNJ and I only had a PS2 available at a certain point it would freeze after every match, so we just paused and exited as a Fatality lol.

Well this isn't a solution but might make some ppl think,,,wen u start the ps2 without a cd in, and go to system configuration, and theres some switches bout versions n cd speed...i no they said those can help wit psx game errors, so maybe someone might think of somthin or mess aorund with it.

Hopefully the Miday treasure 2 will have MKT so no one will have to deal with this crap anymore.

Thanks for the help guys, but I've given up hope of there being a fix.. lol

I even called Midway, and their 'workaround' didn't help.. They said to go the game options menu, and set the 'Buy In' option to no, then to yes again, then exit the menu.

Oh well..

i have the same problems.. .i guess it only happens on ps2.. .the game also freezes when i finish playin' the 8 man tournament.. .weird.. .
