Blood-Sports.net's staff members White_Pointer and Pube have put together our very own Mortal Kombat Trilogy Kombo Video!
This isn't a "show-off" video where we attempt to pull off infinite kombos or rely on frames to attempt to pull off insane kombos that no-one would ever actually use in a real match. We'll leave that job to those geniuses who made the UMK3 service packs :)
Instead, this is a kombo video that demonstrates almost all of the kombos in the game that have a practical, in-game use. These are the kombos you should be using during an actual match - although many of the combos do indeed exceed 45-50% damage. There is a whopping 215 combos shown in the video, complete with a full Brutality demonstration!
To our knowledge this is the first time a video like this has been made.
All combos are performed on the PC version of Mortal Kombat Trilogy.
It's a large download (60 megabytes), and requires Real Player, but it runs for 15 1/2 minutes, is pretty high quality and is definately worth it! Download it from our Mortal Kombat Movies Page! Alternatively you can download it directly right here.
Feel free to share the video to anyone, as long as it stays unedited.

The video was ok, I'm having trouble trying to figure out the real point of a combo video like this, to me, it's like that MK fatality demonstration. It's strange to make a combo video that shows the bare basics of the game and then use the idea of combos that are doable in regular play, because these for the most part are below average combos, but there are some that just stand out as advanced. It's a strange clash. In any event, just wait until SP4 comes out in the coming week or so for the crazy stuff again.
There are openings for combos to do the maximum amount of damage possible, and not utilizing your options for each character once you have locked a definite combo to the fullest in normal gameplay is a mistake. If I can do 60% and I know I can pull it off, I would do that, rather than go for a safe combo that might do 30 merely because it's practical. Given the examples for a lot of those combos, there are many things I would have done in normal gameplay that would have nearly doubled the damage seen there. Think of a combo tree, and the options you have branch off. The same set up with variations that have 20 or 30% difference is just weird. I don't really think the point was practical use, I think it was just to make a combo video. I say this because of things like Jade's return boomerange being used in a combo when the combo is blockable once the boomerang hits first, or Raiden's reverse electricity hitting first. That wouldn't be practical.
Also, practical use for doing combos just to end with a variety of hits and saying they are usable in gameplay is a sign of no strategy, I'm not saying these guys did that, but there's no point in playing if you are going to do something like freeze, uppercut. When you do a combo and end it in a specific manner, you wouldn't want to do a move that is going to put you on the direct opposite side of the screen as the other person just cause it's practical, you'll want to do something that will leave you next to the person to continue the pressure, which is why you will see people leave off the last hit of a ground combo. This way, as the other person is recovering you can run in again and start chipping, and force them to get out of a situation and in the end doing more damage. It's practical use vs common sense. This is of course coming from a competitive point of view. DreemerNJ and I made the crazy combo videos because we wanted something crazy for MK, and only SICDIC from Gamecombos.com had ever made somewhat crazy jugglefests. I hope that our videos were inspiration for making more videos though, that would be cool.
:Edit: Also did I miss MK1 Kano, MK1 Raiden, MK2 Jax and MK2 Kung Lao in there?

Mostly MKT although I'm pretty sure the the characters that also appear in UMK3 have the same kind of combos.

Those are all valid points, I appreciate your feedback.
Your videos were indeed an inspiration for this one, however we aren't trying to compete with you. Your area is the crazy combos, we aren't touching that. This video was basically made to show the combos that can be done during regular play. Sure some of them may not be ideal when you are playing competitively, we acknowledge that. Accepting you, Konqrr and a few others though, not many guys here play MKT competitively. That doesn't exempt those combos of course, so I appreciate your comments.
No, you didn't miss the classic characters. We didn't put those in (or the bosses for that matter), we wanted to concentrate on the regular selectable characters. If we had those in the video would have been even bigger.
Thanks again for your feedback. I look forward to SP4!

OK cool, I knew you guys weren't competing, that was obvious, the main thing I didn't understand the displaying of all the regular autocombos mixed in with the others. It seemed like overkill for the purpose you intended.

That 55% Jax combo and the 50% Stryker combo were pretty clever too. And 52% for Human Smoke and 48% for Ermac? Thats some pretty good stuff. White_Pointer |
why did you put White_Pointer at the bottom? lol

I know you were not trying to compete with the service packs, but I thought your combo video was just as good, maybe even better.
I say this because those are combos I can actually do, I don't like watching someone show off about nearly impossible combos. I like to be able to try them, not just watch.
