MK4 and MK: Gold differences

Hey, I was just wondering what the differences are (outside of Gold having more characters) between MK4 for ps1 and MK: Gold for Dreamcast.

I have a PS2 and a Dreamcast. I picked up Deadly Alliance, Deception, Shaolin Monks and Armageddon. Among those games, the bonuses MK1, MK2 and UMK3 are included, so I'm looking for the better MK4 version to complete my set.

Generlly, the reviews seem to favor the ps1 version, but it seems that may have more to do with the fact that Gold came out a year afterwards, so it was kind of old news. Also, the reviews have said that while the graphics in Gold are an upgrade from the ps1 version, they are pretty shitty for Dreamcast standards.

I don't know...I'm curious. Let me hear your thoughts.

I say get Gold, simply because it's just better. Better graphics, and sound quality.

More characters as well - can't go wrong with that. grin

MK:Gold for better graphics, Midway really did trick us thinking it was actually a new game.

Yeah, but even the red disc version of Gold is a bit glitchier than regular MK4.
