Okay now I am getting realy concerned here. I have not seen any form of Reptile. I believe he isn't even in the game! Here is why. I played the game straight for 30 minutes. Beat it with all seven fighter, and done their Fatalities of course, and kept playing it. All that time, Reptile did not appear to give me any clues. Second is while on the Pit there are no shadows flying across the moon! Then I thought of the SNES you didn't need to have shadows so the last thing I tried was to find him by geting a Double Flawless Victory without using Block and perform a Fatality on the Pit. Of course, nothing happened! Has anyone seen any shred of proof that Reptile is in the game? In my version, I haven't.

Reptile appearing in the arcade version was different from him appearing in the home versions. Matt will prolly have to go more in depth on this, but I think the game has to be beaten a cetain number of times or on for a certain amount of hours before he would start offering clues to his wearabouts in the arcade version.

No, Reptile didn't appear in the arcade version until MK Rev.3.1 (I believe). And my guess is that the Kollectors Edition version is ported from an earlier working version

OF COURSE!!! it makes sense now. midway raped us out of 10 dollars by taking MK out of MAT2 and putting it in a Kollectors addition MKD. but wait, why should we give our loyal fans a perfect version of a game that they are paying more than its worth, lets give them an early version of the game without reptile, oh and lets fuck up the sound too and maybe throw in some slowdown JUST TO PISS THEM OFF. midway sure likes taking a shit on all there fans.

MK1 does have alot of sound problems. So I wouldn't be surprised if Reptile isn't in there.I think we should bring this up at the next fight night(if it comes this time). When will we be able to play ARCADE PERFECT MK's?I like playing MK1 but I hate the "replacement" sound effects(Scorp's Spear just gets on my nerves).Thats why I never pick him in MK1 now.

Reptile is fightable after 8 cycles of the stages against the CPU, (at least that's how many it is to fight him the first time after turning on the game) so that means on the 8th time you see the Pit, the shadows should be there, and that's when you need to get the double flawless, not press block, with a fatality not being the pit itself. I don't know if you can do 8 cycles of all the stages in 1 on 1, and then fight the CPU once and have it work, but try it the regular method.
Onto other things. Midway is disgusting and insulting.

I noticed while watching the Reptile bio feature on the same disk, when Boon says how he came up with Reptile, Reptile from MK1 apears near the bottom of the screen and does like one roundhouse kick, I tried pressing start to see if anything would happen but no dice. I wonder if this is an easter egg? Check out Reptile's bio and see for yourself

I think it was probably just a gimmick thing. Look at the other video bios, they've all got some weird quick from the character, such as John Turk pulling off a freeze at the end of the clip.
I finally fought Reptile last night in the MK1 disc that comes with MK Deception. So I have finally answered my own question. Reptile is in the game, so the only things really keeping this an "exact" arcade duplicat are some of the missing sounds, and music. Other than that, we finally have the closest thing to MK1 arcade.
I am not going to Ermac though. LOL.

How did you get up to him? What did you have to do differently?
It is the same way as usual. When you first turn the game on it takes a while, but Kungbroken was right. After about the fifth time returning to the Pit (for me) the shadows were on the moon, and I got a Double Flawless Victory without using Block, and did my fighter's Fatality, and sure enough it was go time. It had been so long since I fought him, I forgot how fast he was! Trust me guys he is in there. Sometimes you have to go through the Pit stage a few times before Reptile will want to fight, but he was there.
