Hey, nice to see you back...

Couple things:
1. I believe there is a rule to not advetise websites outside of your signiture.

2. The constant flaming is really only cause you're an ass!

3. Haven't you been proclaiming since Feb or March that this game is over with? Come on there's a 14 page thread on this site for this stuff, and you don't even need to use the search function to find this one bucko.

I was playing around with ss cancel into crouch attacks and the recovery of moves when a crouching action is executed after the attack - mid/high. IE: Mavados (Hook Swords) 3 into a crouch, canceling the recovery of 3 with the crouch - BTW, is there a term for that, canceling the recovery animation with a crouch? Anywho, you can cancel and immediantly crouch, but not attack. For instance, a d+3 would be a nice mix up, no? Now i've tried many things; jump cancels, movement techniques, CS,etc. Nothing seams to envoke any frame drop or adequete cancelation. Is there a way to cancel out of that "stalled" crouching state? Am I missing something. I know I havn't been playing much - heh, who has? But I've been trying a few things here and there, but nothing seams to work. I'm starting to think my efforts are in vain. sad

I've been trying this with Lao's broads as well. Anywho, back to VF - damn 8 frame throws, and who the hell can buffer 4 escapes in that escape window?!?! furious

u can crouch cancell recover on certain sweep moves like scorps d+3. after d+3 u can recover in crouch and still d+2 under a high attack.

Okay I have a question. Is there a good use to Shang Tsung's snake other than style branching? I usually just switch to crane because I tend to find that style way more versatile (no pun intended). Other than a few weak pokes I can't really see the use to snake. Am I right or is there something I don't know?

Oh and does Kano have a xing yi combo that is not punishable? (1,1 doesn't count :p).

Cheers,
Q

Well, that's not exactly what I was going for. heh. Um, what I mean is in weapon stances can you recover from mid/high hitting moves with a crouch cancel, then cancel the "stalled" animation of the crouch. Becaouse even though you can crouch, you cannot attack until the recovery ends. It's like you can cancel the recovery animation, but not the actual time of the recovery. I want to cancel the actual recovery time after I've crouch canceled.

Snakes sucks. Never use. Also, never use the style branch either. Not only is 1,1,2,cs very interuptable, but depending on how the opponent is positioned the last hit can sometimes miss. VS Quan Chi this happened a lot, and was one of the main reasons Spazz always owns my Shang..so I stopped using Snake. Simply stick with Crane:2,d+4,reversal and all the other shit crane has to offer.

As for kano...well hes not much of a juggling kinda character. Kano is 100% set ups 100% of the time. This is a curse more than a gift , however, for kano is always unsafe with his set up. Anyways, the whole point is to land 1,1,2,cs,power up and go for the low mid mix ups out of akido(d+3 or 4,4,3,cs,b+2). Either way they will lose over 25% damage..so it's all good. Just don't forget if 4,4,3,cs,b+2 is blocked you are gonna get owned.

and I just realized I read the kano part of your post wrong. So to answer your Q..nope. Xing Yi is pretty damn unsafe. If your opponent sucks ass at interupting then 1,1,2,cs is safe on block ,but against a good player you have to stick with aikido for safe ness. b+3..while slow is 100% safe on block along with d+3.

Ok thanks ;).

I had noticed that the style branch in snake is not always ineffective but I mostly use it after sidestepping and my opponents haven't yet figured out that they can punish me, appearently (but it won't take long ;)). BTW I experience the same thing often about not being able to land his last hit of his style branch from snake.

You know, it would be helpful not to direct all this attention toward you, MKL/NE0. I think that this was the cause of those many flames in the previous threads. How about making a thread with the title "MKDA Lessons Guide" or something, and encourage people to share and teach what they've learned. Who knows, even you, who states that you're so good, might actually learn something.
