I am interested in making my own versions of Mortal Kombat Trilogy, and Mortal Kombat Gold arcade. I don't know if I should build them from scratch or not. The question I have if anyone could help me is, can a PSX, or Dreamcast be plugged into an arcade board? I don't think it can. A friend of mine showed me how to simply build your own stand up arcade using home systems, and larger controllers. Usually the arcade like ones sold in stores, and a tv, and boards. It takes a while but still can an arcade board have a PSX, or Dreamcast plugged into it?

Theoretically you could probably wire anything to anything else if you are good enough at doing it. However, if you want an arcade version of MKG, get a computer monitor, a VGA adapter and slap together an arcade box. If you have the box you can always get an arcade screen that fits a standard arcade cabinet but is designed to use regular VGA or some other format.

For controls you can gut a third party DC or PSX controller, buy some buttons and a joystick and solder wires up correctly from the metal connections inside the control pad to the tabs on the buttons and joystick and them mount them on a board. That will give you the authentic arcade buttons and stuff.

There are many other ways to do it to, but thats just a few.

Thank you for the info. I think I'm going to try to go with the VGA route first, and if that happens to fail for whatever reason, I'll try another way. Thank you for the imput. smile
