The music for the MK3 and UMK3 stages on PSX is slow, about seriously 97% or normal speed, that might be what the guy who said the music was shitty is talking about, but still no reason to say they sucked.

N64 version only: In Goro's Lair uppercutting sends players to the armory, and if uppercutted again you go to kombat tomb. You can't do any of that in the PSX. Just noticed that.

The AI is dumber on the N64 version. After playing the PSX version the N64 version is too easy. I also noticed things like the Deadpool being different. Its true the graphics for the N64 version are poor.

Didn't they do like they did in MK2 for SNES and make stylistic changes? Like adding the orange sky behind the bars in the portholes in the Deadpool?

I don't mind that really, I always thought it was kind of neat, but I don't remember if N64 had that sorta customizing as well.

You guys missed one big difference:
the male Chameleon and the female Kameleon in the two versions.

I owned the N64 version, but played the PSX version a lot at friends.
The PSX has better quality sound and a hell lot more characters than the N64 version. Therefore i prefer the PSX version.
The grapics are another case.
While the PSX sprites were of better quality,...the N64 filter made the graphics look better on the N64 imo.

I also own the PC version of MKT.
While i love the big box the game came in (it really appealed to me), the PC version only lacked at one aspect. The graphic resolution is very low (PC's weren't that fast at the time of release so i understand the decision). Would MKT PC be released with higher resolution modes and maybe netplay code,......it would've been the best version of MK ever.

btw. what is meant with Noobs Dorfen?

No I mentioned them (Chameleon and Khameleon) above without using their names. And I was refering to the orange backdrop behind the deadpool. But also the floor is different.

Noob's Dorfen was a hidden level in UMK3 and I think MK3 for the arcade. I believe the kombat kode to play there was 050-050 for the arcade as well. It was just Motauro's layer with the walls removed so it was a floor, some black space, and then the pits in the background.

Also take into account the capabilities of the systems. N64 used music from the cartridge and not from a CD, giving the PSX and edge. The CD's tracks were also sperate (somthing they stopped doing some time afterwards), so you could play it on a CD player.

But you take a look at the PSX version, you get:
More characters
Better sound and music (Including MK2 and MK3 music)
Playable bosses
Classic MK1 and MK2 characters, with a new move for each.
Selective morphing for Shang Tsung

If you can get past the problems:
Loading times, especially with Shang
Known glitches
Incompatability with PS2

On the other hand, the N64 does get credit for what it got to make up for what it didn't get:

Hidden super Endurance ladders (hold Down + Start on Kano at select screen)
3 Mini-games
New stage - The Star Bridge
Classic shadows over The Pit and Toasty Code (on the star Bridge, takes you to Khameleon)
Extra row of treasures at the end of the game
More hidden options
No load times
Kombat Kodes for all Kombat Zones
Bosses with a Fatality each.
One Sub-Zero with the powers of both (good or bad depending on who you talk to).

You'll just have to put up with:
Lower quality graphics, sound, and music (graphics aren't noticable unless you morph Tsung; not as smooth as PSX).
Having to activate Human Smoke and Khameleon each time you turn the game on (since they don't save into a memory pack).
Having less characters than PSX.

You can pretty much take your pick. I have both versions, and each one has enough extras to counter the other.
