Mortal Kombat 4 PC version Direct 3D problems...

I just installed Mortal Kombat 4 on my PC,and everything seems to be ok,but when i try to change graphic settings to Direct 3D it says Direct 3D is not available.I have DirectX 9 and not very old Detonators.Has anyone encountered a similar problem?How can i fix it?

I have. try to redo a full driver install. After it everything should be okay.
I dunno, the problem I had was very similar, but try it. it cannot harm your
computer that much.

Or the game is simply too buggy to work with some drivers.
