posted04/05/2003 01:48 PM (UTC)bythps_boyHey, I would like to know what glitches people have found over the years playing Mortal Kombat.
I only found 1 on MKT when Scorpian goes to do his fatality and misses the enemy, and it still says FATALITY even though the person is still standing. what glitches have you found?

In the SNES version of MK3 you could do some glitches involving the 1 button fatalities. The weirdest glitch I remember was doing Nitewolf's friendship but for some reason the opponent wasn't dizzied and could still attack. The opponent walked up and started attacking Raiden, and I started pressing buttons and a green copy of Nitewolf was behind raiden. He could do all his moves but he never actually moved from behind Raiden. It was weird.
Doing the same glitch let you uppercut Sub Zero's snowman and he would pop with like 3 drops of blood coming out.
Also, if you do random select endurance in UMK3 for SNES the E that stands for endurance can come up as a character portrait and then you play kinda as Sheeva. Her graphics aren't there, just a couple of dots. I don't reember if she has sounds but she can do her moves pretty much invisibly and is insanely fast.
I think in some of the games you could do Babalities fast enough that if you killed them with an uppercut and did the Bability they'd turn into babies in the air and just stay there.
There were also a ton of glitches I found in the PSX version of MKT, but they were all related to the PSX overheating I think. Things like Shang Tsung permanently morphing into Sub Zero and then every time you try to do a Sub move he would dizzy.

MKI:
-The clasic johnny Cage two head fatality.
-In sega genesis, get Reptile in the Second Endurance Match, and will appear a green SONYA (another ERMAC, maybe).
MKII:
- With Reptile do the his TONGE FATALITY in THE ARMORY and the flor will move.
-With Kitana in the KOMBAT TOMB win the last match without block then do the pit movement and in the moment that your opponent hit the spikes press down 3 times then LK (or HK) to do the BABALITY.
-with Sub Zero, when FINISH HIM do the MORTAL FREEZEE then do his long distang FATALITY.
-with Sub Zero in the dead pool do his MORTAL FREEZEE then pit his opponent frozen to the acid.
in mk3 and umk3 are a lot of glitches, but i dont remember now

In MK4, u activate the stage fatality cheat. Then, when it's time to finish off your opponent, sidestep at a certain range from him, and push down + high punch. the fatality would go as usual, only your character misses the uppercutt, and they both just stay there, standing. When the text '' ...WINS' shows up, your opponent would fall down, as he would usually do if the time to perform a fatality would have ran out. 'FATALITY'

In MK2 for SNES if you beat Kintaro with Baraka's Blade Fury Kintaro will not hit the floor.

I dont know if its a glitch or just something they did as a neat little thing but if you pick two Scorpions for your team in a 2 on 2 battle in UMK3, in the beginning of the round when both of them are on the screen, the second Scorpion is in Reptile's stance.
I don't remember if anything happens with classic Sub or Ermac or Smoke. I am pretty sure nothing like that happened with Reptile though.

There's also a great glitch in MK1 where if you're fast enough, you can do Johnny Cage's Super Uppercut, knock off your opponents head, then nut crunch them, making the head reappear.
Works in the Arcade and PC version.

With the PSX glitch I mentioned above, Shang Permanently morphing into Sub Zero after the PSX overheated a bit, something kinda like that could happen. If you were the permanently morphed Shang and tried to morph into anyone else it would do the animation of Sub Zero morphing back to shang, but half way through he would just disappear. Then the opponent could move for a few seconds but it would then freeze the PSX up.

Wow this one is funny. In UMK3 for Genesis play as Kabal and defeat your opponent on the last round with a HP and hold down the button. After it says Finish Him walk in and do f,f,d,f and release HP and Kabal's head will pop right off for no reason. One of the times I mashed buttons and kano popped onto the screen for no reason but I'm not sure why that happened.

Holey cheese, I'm going to try that one, that sounds funny
The most hilarious one's I've seen with my own eyes are on the endurance rounds on UMK3 for the arcade... defeat the first enemy with a harpoon and they'll freeze there in a pained position, and you'll have to fight the next guy around them. One time I finished my first opponent (Sheeva) and instead of falling over, she RAN to the other side of the screen and JUMPED straight up, out of view... I'm not sure if it's supposed to be like that but I just about cacked me dacks laughing at it

On MK II in the earlier arcade versions you could do a Babality with Baraka and then use his slice and dice move to cut the baby.
Also, in MK I on Genesis - fight Reptile but hit start on the other control and Scorpion and Sub-Zero will be green (until the match begins).

Dude, that aounds hilarious... But what the hell is a dack or dacks?
An annoying UMK3 glitch usually occured when I was playing as Rain. If I finished my opponent with his "Force Ball," the character might either freeze in place, or during endurance matches, the next character would roll in mid-air pass the screen, at which point the game does everything but freeze, and I have to press [RESET].
cut the baby? that's not a glitch if your actualy cutting the baby unless the baby
turns into a adult when you do.
plus to cut the baby in half he would
have to crouch down. I dunno, I may be wrong.

Well he didn't actually cut it in half, but rather just flurry of blades and blood like the normal move. Glitch or not funny as hell - of course it was not availible after test versions.

In MK4 sometimes if you and your oppenent hit eachother at the same time when the opponent is in "danger" you would both get knocked out, it was funny too because I was Quan Chi and I hit Kai and won but at the same time he hit me with his high fireball, so when it said "FINISH HIM" we were both laying flat on our faces.
