ok... so i've got an almost perfectly working mortal kombat trilogy disc image file in use with pcsxbox v2.1 (running in bios 1.5)...
so, what i am trying to do here is open up and edit the music files, so i can silence all of the tracks so they won't be heard in game... because i find the glitchy music and how the proper background music tracks don't match up with the correct stage levels they are suppose to very annoying!
right now, i'm using daemon tools to mount the disc image as if it were a cd, so i can explore the contents of the file... only, to realize that all of the files are in a .dat format, so i am currently clueless as to what program / format / quality settings i should use to convert these files so i can edit them...
i figured if anyone would have an answer, it would be someone from this site... also note, that i've owned multiple copies of mkt at one point or another, but my last copy of the game was a used copy and was so scratched up that it couldn't be read anymore

...
i heard the psp version of mkt doesn't have the music, wonder if there is a way to get that version to work?... or even better, is there an actual known psx version that specifically left out the music?... if anyone knows please share!...
i love mk classics dearly, especially the music mostly from mk1 and mk2, but in this situation, having to pause the game right after a match starts up to mute the glitchy music is really horrendous!... other than the music the game runs and looks great (for what the playstation's graphics could offer)
any knowledgeable input will be greatly appreciated, thx
