Ok my brothers just got MKT for the PS1 off amazon.com for about $13.00 and they have never played it and I havnt played it in years. So we've had it for about 2 days and we are encountering problems like after we finish an 8 player tournament it freezes and we have to reset the game. Also after we beat Shao Kahn in Arcade the srcreen turns black and freezes. Last but not least we have had a couple freezes during 2V2 matches.

Now I know this game was known to have glithces like all the other 2-D MK's but I think this is too much. Now my question to you or to people who own this game is....are these glitches like really apart of the game or did we just order a bad copy of the game and got bad luck?

(Note we play this game on a PS2 so could that be one of the reasons for the bad glitches)?

I'd appreaciate your help.... sad

Could be and actually it is. That's the way MKT works for PS2. So your copy is fine. Unfortunately, it's just one of the few PSX games that PS2 doesn't run properly.
P.S. Welcome to MKO!

Get a PSone, or an original Playstation. You can find them anywhere for cheapy cheap prices. Try ebay and Amazon.

Really? well that sucks we have a PS1 but we have only one contoller and we lost the cords to hook it up haha. Well I guess I need to get a PS1 then.

Also does anyone like the N64 MK Trilogy becuase I thought about looking into that one too but the controller seems like it would be weird to play on. I wouldn't mind having both MKT's though even know the PS1 has more characters and Chameleon.

P.S. Thanks Mortalman

With the N64 version, the controller is the smallest problem. It's just a matter of getting accustomed to it. But the game itself is significantly worse than its PSX equivalent. And that's in terms of graphics, animation, sound effects, music, number of characters and most important: the gameplay.

However, you may find some little advantages, like Khameleon, additional 3on3 Mode, fatalities for Motaro and Shao Kahn, faster loading times and a few graphic differences (more or less changed backgrounds), but that last one is arguable.

And perhaps the second paragraph may be the reason for someone to like that version. A couple of additional features and background changes that gives the game a slighty different feel.

You can use PS2 cords to hook up a PS1. I am also pretty sure that a PS2 controller will work on a PS1. Just try it, if you can.
