Tanya has potential, she still has to evolve but she has more potential then characters (joke or not) like Mokap, Khameleon or Chameleon will ever have.

Yes, Mokap is one of the worst characters to ever stink up an MK game, and I have no idea who gave the go ahead to include some dickhead in a motion capture suit with lights (for a Carlos Pesina tribute, why not just have a martial artist named Carlos?). But like him or not, Mokap was SUPPOSED to be a joke, Midway intended him to be crap, probably hoping for something like Street Fighter's Dan. We're not supposed to take him seriously as a character.

To me, the most pathetic, should never have been designed character is Kobra. A blatant ripoff of Street Fighter's Ken (I thought he was supposed to be a parody at first) who must have taken about five minutes to create, with a going nowhere storyline, and almost completely irrelevant to what is happening in MK (ooh, he's another killable Black Dragon groupie, big deal). Hell even Tanya's involvement is more meaningful than this loser.

A close second is Reiko, but in his defence, he was a last minute rush job, added as a very late replacement to Noob Saibot, so this boring bastard never had much of a hope anyway.

Mokap shouldn't be taken as a part of the intended roster... pathethic characters? Reiko, Tanya, Kai, Jarek, the cyborgs come in close too, and almost all of MK3 and MK4's roster is forgetable.

I think anyone who wasn't in MK 1,2 and 3 pretty well is a character they just used a place holder so Midway doesn't seem repetitive.

I'm going to have to go with Rain. there's nothing about him that I liked.

I mean, he has NO story, NO moves of his own, NO ending, NO originality in costume (he doesnt even have his own colour). At least the female version has a story and her own colour of costume. Mokap was unique, had a story and had his own moves.....even if it were lame. But not as lame as having nothing original. Meat is a close second in patheticness.

what irritates me is that the old characters became all pathethic in almost every way. I used to find Subs, Scorpion and púossibly the oldies decent enough, but now???

Rain has to be the most pathetic. The guy started out as a stupid Prince reference in the demo of a game and ended up being another generic cut and paste ninja that took all of 5 minutes to design.

Hmm, I'd have to say Sheeva. I loved all of the ninjas, and cyborg ninjas, and female ninjas. Heck, all of the MK1, 2 and 3 line up. Except Sheeva.. she was just a bit pointless to me, some sort of Goro/Kintaro stand in. Her story wasn't relevant to me.
