Of all of the special moves for the fighters MK1-UMK3, which is the move that is the most useless to you?

Mine would be Reptile's slow acid ball.

How about yours...
MK1: Hard too say but probably Kano,s Headsmash because that counts as a special move I think.

MK2: Definitly Scorpions Leg throw, of course it looks cool but it make poor damage and doesnt connect very well.
If you think there is a weaker one than what?

MK3: For me its Stryker,s Baton Trip but Cyrax,s air throw, Sindel,s flying and Kabal,s ground saw are weak too.

Wow. You named two of the greatest move sets in 2D MK history. Amazing.

And he listed teleports under MK2. Dude, they're very useful escape moves!

Personaly, I though Kabal's ground saw was pretty useless...

Yeah Kabal's ground saw sucks, it's telepathically linked to him so if you hit him it disappears, I thought that was ridiculous, but imagine if it didn't lol. I use it when someone is on danger and I have a lot of life to fool around with, otherwise, use it and be owned using it.

DreemerNJ and I found a use for Sindel's flight, you can cancel it multiple times in a row by hitting F F B HK, BL, HK, BL over and over up to like 5 times, she will stutter in place and can instantly block attacks so she's safe while doing it, a good mind game tactic.

I find Noob Saibot's clone throw t be pretty useless because even if it connects there's not a whole ton that can be done after it.

Cyrax's air throw is infact VERY useful...

Some people think Kano's manhandle is useless but I dunno, helps out to finish off corner combos to add damage, easy 60% on anyone, and he can inf some characters with it as well in the corner, but the timing is insane.

I always felt stupid using Cyrax's bombs. They never hit anything!

just about any normal, non-attack teleport,...ever.
so that rules out scorpion's, noob's, and a few others. Lao's telekick did suck though

Even my little brother could spot a teleport way ahead of time and retaliate. And he was only 8 when we started playing MK together.
and if you teleport against the CPU, they'll murder you quickly.
I dont know whats wrong with teleport, if someone fire,s a shot in MK2 at you, you can easily teleport with Raiden behind them, or you can avoid a jumpkick by teleport away ect.
So there are some situation where you can teleport even against an very experienced player so its not useless.
The question was wich move is the most useless not the most anoying one.

Kung Lao,s teleport in UMK3 can start his long Kombo and in MK2 it can be usefull too sometimes.

I don't see how teleports can ever be looked down upon. I'm not saying people should use them constantly but they can be used effectively to evade an attack every now and then.

Worst special move though is definitely Kabals ground saw.

I never had any use for the Square Wave Punch. No matter who used it.
Scorpion's Scissor Takedown was pretty weak too.
Reiko's Spinning Teleport was also pretty worthless.

Kabal' Ground Saw was stupid. And so were Cyrax's bombs, hard to pull off and completely useless.

Reiko's Spinning Teleport could be great if used correctly.

And how can someone say Ermac's moves are useless? ._.

Useless Move? Hard to say. It all depends on the situation. But for me, I'd have to say Kabal's saw.

But the most useful moves are either those shoulder moves from Nightwolf and Khan or Sonya's Bicycle Kick. I love catching people off gaurd and then catching them with the leg grab afterwards. Fun!

All of them are useful. But the worst one is Kabal's groundsaw.

For MK1, I would have to go with Johnny Cage's split punch. I never really found myself using that move.

For MK2, definitely Scorpion's leg trip. It has about the same effect as a sweep, so it's not really useful IMO.

For MK3/UMK3/MKT, I'd have to go with Cyrax's air throw. I really can't think of anyone who even uses that move. It's so complicated to pull off. Smoke's air throw is much easier.

For MK4, Kai's handstand gets the vote. Again, I never really found myself using that move. In fact, I don't even use Kai that much, so yeah.

I still have to disagree with you.
Teleports are useless.

What's the point in teleporting to avoid a special move, when you can just duck or block and keep your distance.

I'd rather take a little damage blocking or no damage ducking and be able to stay half a screen away, than teleport right next to my opponent where they can attack me before my teleport animation stops. Besides Teleports take at least 2 button presses while ducking or blocking just take 1. Much Safer, Much Easier.

The only teleports worth anything are the ones that attack like cyber-smoke's telepunch, mileena's telekick (not really all that great), scorpions telepunch...etc.

I didn't say they were annoying.

Have you ever watched one of my Smoke or Ermac matches in UMK3? It would throw your logic out the window.

Also note that it's also very easy to take a jump kicker out of the air most of the time by simply doing a standing high kick, or you could block and retaliate. once again. Much simpler. Much Safer.

standard non-attack teleports are just not worth the effort or risk involved in trying to time them perfectly.

Sorry but your wrong, read first what I wrote.

If you play as Shang Tsung for example and me is Raiden, you make a double or triple fireball from a great distance to me, I teleport (Down, Up for Raiden wich you can do in a split second) now I am behind you and your still fire your ball,s and are open for an attack.
The same is possible with Scorpions Spear, or any other slow recovery move. (Of course you have to do it very quick)

There is even a Combo for Raiden with the use of teleporting in MKT and MK2 possible.

Kung Lao,s teleport is even better because it can be finished with a Kick/Punch wich makes a combo possible in UMK3.

This and many other variants are possible with teleporting, but I have my doubts that you every played someone good that know how to use them effectivly.

And although you say the useful ones are the teleport uppercuts etc. they can tend to get relied upon and overused by weak players - making a match very boring and predictable. I'd rather teleport with Raiden and end up right behind my opponent, than tele-uppercut with Cyber Smoke and be blocked - leaving me open for heavy damage.

The most useful in combat seem to be H. Smoke's, Ermac's and Scorpion's (especialy Scorpion's cus he can go forward and back) teleport punches...

You are too vague. And don't John Kerry your post at the very end. "I voted for teleports before I voted against them." And don't discriminate against certain teleport minorities.
