theres nothing wrong wiht my ps2 because i just had it sent of to be fixed about a month ago. the disc is pretty scratched up too. i guess i have a coaster on my hands now.

I heard someplace that placing cd's in a freezer overnight can help scratches...

try cleaning up the scratches, that worked for me, but then again, depending on the scratch, if it hurts the disk, hey it will hurt.

Here is how I fix my ps2 discs, don't try this tho unless u have no other choices, cause if u mess it up it's done.
1. use a skip doctor
2. apply a think layer of toothpaste to the scratches, rubbing it gently. don't use a lot. let it sit overnight and try it the next day. don't leave clumps, you have to do it really soft and smooth.
3. buy a new one

the best thing to do is get a disc doctor, those things are pretty much good for fixing scratches.

Dude, stay away from any of those voodoo magic remedies. They don't work. Even those Disc Doctors aren't all they're cracked up to be. Mine didn't fix any of the discs I used it on but I'd recommend using those before any of those homebrew tricks.

Yes i have, and it worked. But as I said, use it as a last resort when you have no other ways to fix it. I said use the skip doctor first, so if u have access please do, they can suck.
corylee Wrote: toothpaste is an abrasive,I would'nt do it.shop around for a disk repair kit instead. |

That's what I said, u both said use the skip doctor before trying my 'voodoo magic' and 'homebrew' tricks, and that's exactly what I was saying to do...

get the disc doctor. Despite what they say it does work. My nascar 03 wasnt working and i bought the disc doctor which fixed it.
If the scratches are too deep, it cant be fixed. But either way the disc doctor can be reused in the future incase this happens again.
