I wanted to add to my above post to reply to a comment I read above ... whenever anyone is a practitioner of Ninjutsu they are referred to as Ninja. In Japan during trips to visit Hatsumi, townfolk know why we are there (as it is almost tradition) and we are known as Ninja. However, the female version is Kunoichi. Man, are they the vicious ones, but that is another story.
This said though, I don't go around telling people I'm a Ninja as what purpose would that serve and to many would be considered laughable (those who just don't understand).

Okay, so I thought this thread started innocently enough. We had some debate about the whole ninja thing, and then I read this:

"Scorpio are u stupid thoese things about reptile and sub zero have been posted above so why dont u read before posting!?"

This was posted by Volkam, the one who stated that Sub-Zero, Reptile, and Scorpion were all ninjas, when, in fact, Sub-Zero and Reptile are not. And yet he calls Scorpio "stupid" for not reading before he posted. When, clearly, Volkam didn't bother to read the official backgrounds of these characters himself.

But his main question is left as why Scorpion doesn't have Ninjitsu as a fighting style. Here's the answer: We_don't_know. WE didn't design the game. WE didn't choose the fighting styles. You've apparently gotten some feedback as to possible reasons, but we don't know for sure. Ask the dev team.

Try to remember that the storylines from the shows and movies aren't connected to the storylines from the games and the comics by John Tobias.

As for this Ninjitsu/Ninjutsu thing, I think that Sub-Zero and Scorpion should have some forms of Ninjitsu. Sub-Zero has Shotokan which is a type of Karate, a Japanese style while Dragon is a type of Kung Fu, a Chinese style. Although Sub-Zero is a ninja-like warrior, he should still have some sort of Ninjitsu style and the same goes for Scorpion and some others.

sounds like he was lin kuei to me. his umk3 bio is different, and you shouldnt go by that one anyway, you would go by his updated one.

Actually, I'd like to you this quote from that FAQ by Gavok:
