I find this to be a bit funny that with it comes to be sub bosses have been far harder than Bosses in MK. If there was something that was going to kill me back in the arcade days it would have been Goro,Kintaro,Motaro, and goro from MK4 home port.To me they have been far stronger and where able to take more damage off you in a round than and boss. I think the mean reason that sub bosses have been harder is that with it comes to them they tend to throw alot more. Kintaro is the king of sub bosses since he did throw alot and that super teleport smash was next to unstoppable. Goro is next since the controls in MK 1 were a bit slugish( I still love MK1). Motaro is 3rd do to he could pick you up at any given time and punch you and his telaport made him even more dangerous. Goro in MK4 was hard since his telaport smash and his back breaker, but the telaport smash could be avoided thanks to the run button. Shang Tsung,Khan,Shinnok have all been to me easy.

^ my opinion

I would like to hear you opinion on this thanks for your time

I used to hate the Sub-Bosses! But after I got better at the games, I could beat them. Now have no trouble.

MK1- Goro was way too easy, Shang was a little more difficult IMO.
MK2-Kintaro was fuckin hard, 10x harder than Kahn
MK3/MKT-Motaro was easy, and Kahn was a cheap bitch in MKT
MK4/Gold-Goro was 100x harder than Shinnok, but then again that aint saying much.

All I have to say about this is, I miss shang tsung from MK1, as easy as he was to beat as a little kid, it was fun to see him change back and forth at will without any problems. Its supposed to be a gimy vs shang tsung if you happened to beat Goro. I really like the originality in mk1.

MK1 - Goro was hard, but not too hard. Shang Tsung was ÜBER HARD.

MK2 - Kintaro = The hardest. Kahn = Not that tough...

MK3 - Motaro...I HATE Motaro. He's the cheapest Sub Boss of them all!! Which Sub Boss who already is overpowered needs a TELEPORT MOVE and a SWEEP? God, I hate this stupid horse, he's by far the cheapest. As for Kahn...the bad thing about him is that he can do his shoulder charge as often in a row as he wants and you can't do a thing about it, and that he automatically fires a Fireball when you fire one. A good example how Mortal Kombat isn't challenging, but just cheap AI. MK3 still is my favorite though...along with MK1. :P

MK4 - Goro can be either very easy or very hard. Depends. Shinnok's a pushover. I seem to be the only one who doesn't hate him for that.

So...yea...Sub Bosses were always harder, except for MK1.

MK1:
Goro - Easy
Shang Tsung - Medium/Hard he was tough at times

MK2:
Kintaro - Hard, he was tough till you figured out how to counter all his attacks.
Shao Kahn - Medium/hard, by the time you get to Kahn you have already delt with Kintaro so he isn't to hard, but if you accidently get hit a few times you're dead so you always had to be real careful.

MK3:
Motaro - Medium/Hard, sometimes he was a real ass and nearly impossible to beat. Not quite as hard as Kintaro tho since his AI could be extreamly stupid at times and seemed much more predictable then Kintaro's.
Shao Kahn - Medium/Hard, again he could be a real prick. His moves were no longer as powerful as they once were but he was a lot more versatile in his attacks.

MK4:
Goro - Easy/Medium, if he hit you a couple times you would be in a world of pain...fortunately he was easy to avoid. Dumb AI.
Shinnok - Joke, he sucked ass.

MK1- It's hard to say, since I never really took the time to get used to it, but I'd say Shang was harder than Goro.
MK2- Kintaro was harder; cheap as hell. Kahn was tough too.
MK3- I'd say Kahn was harder, but Motaro still gave me a hard time.
MK4- Easiest bosses ever. Sometimes Goro gets tough out of nowhere but usually he's easy. Shinnok is a wuss.

MK1
Goro: Kind of hard
Shang Tsung: He was difficult, at least for me

MK2
Kintaro: Very hard! He was the hardest.
Shao Kahn: Again, very hard but not hard like Kintaro

MK3
Motaro: Was some what difficult but not too bad
Shao Kahn: He was really hard for me.

MK4
Goro: Easy as hell.
Shinnok: OMG, easier than fighting a regular character like Sonya.

MKM
Quan Chi: Very tough but not on the level of MK1-MK3.
Shinnok: Well you did not have to kill him so....

MKDA
Moloch: Was very hard. The only sub boss close to or as tough as Kintaro.
Shang/Quan: Easy as hell. Shinnok all over again.

MK1:
Goro was hard, but not too hard. Shang Tsung was easy.

MK2:
Kintaro way harder than Shao Kahn to beat. Especially with that damn Teleport Stomp of hisfurious!

MK3-MKT: Well, I'll have to say that Shao Kahn was harder to beat than Motaro. The only problem I had with Motaro was his teleport, but with Shao Kahn, it was a whole different story. He just wouldn't stop being so #$%^& cheap!

MK4/Gold: Both Goro and Shinnok were the easiest Mortal Kombat bosses that I have ever played! grin Especially that pussy Shinnok.

MK1 Goro - He was hard at first, but I played the cpu so much when the game was out that I would toy with him...I would always finish him off with Cage's nut punch and it would kill him, but he was programmed to throw after he got hit with that. He would throw me then fall over LOL.

MK1 Shang - He was pretty easy. You could trap him in the corner and beat him with a barrage of ducking kicks.

MK2 Kintaro - The hardest sub-boss IMO. Certain characters had advantages (Kitana), others had an extremely hard time (Reptile). The corner jab trap was really the best and cheapest way to beat him.

MK2 Shao Kahn - Uh...jump and duck then uppercut, Rinse -> Repeat.

MK3 Motaro - For the most part, easy. When he gets close to you, jump back and kick. Your kick will whiff and he'll block, then he will most likely jump at you. aaHK, then run up and dial-a-combo his ass. Rinse -> Repeat.

MK3/T Shao Kahn - Difficult. Always walk back at the beginning of the round. If he charges, you can duck and uppercut him because his dash will whiff. Any time you knock him down run up and dial-a-combo him.

MK4 Goro - Difficult. There are some traps you can do like jump HK, Slide, repeat with Sub-Zero...but he takes so little damage. For those of you who think he is easy, please share your strategies!

MK4 Shinnok - What a joke. The unfinished boss. (wonder if they ever intended him to impersonate other fighters?)
I will not try to play the cool progamer, but if i am concentrated (and a little bit lucky of course) i can kill Kintaro Double Flawless (did it a couple times)
I always beat him on first try, its all about to know how to react and counter his attacks.

If he teleport stomps you, just make a jump kick before he land, it will counter his stomp 100%

Than you must use footsweper with the maximum distance, and always duck after a footswepper because he spit most of the time fireballs after the footswepper connect.

If he blocks the footsweeper and getting you in the corner, just jump over him, but dont do always a jumkick then, because sometimes he trowh you from the air during the jumkick.

If he gets you with his stomp attack he will always make his taunt, than just walk too him and uppercut him.

For me the last 3 normal enemy are harder than kintaro and khan.

For Shao Khan there is a very easy tactic too kill him with everyone, after the battle beginn jump to the corner, than duck and block, he will do his shoulderdash, you block the dash and counter with an uppercut, reapeat this until he,s dead. This tactic works for me 90% of the time.

Another very easy tactic, let kahn get near you, then make barakas shredder or Kitana,s Fan.
He will always get hit by it.

(All i say i did on MK2 Arcade Machine Medium Difficult)

Abuse the uppercut. Uppercut, run up and uppercut him again, over and over till you reach the end of the stage and then just continue.

Max damage breaks it after a while and he sometimes can throw you out of it, but you can just start the cycle over. Very easy to do, anyone can do it.

Am I the only one who found MKT Shao Kahn
to be extremely unfairly strong?

Far stronger than that wanker Motaro, that's for sure..

Shao Kahn is very extreme in MKT, he wasn't that tuff in MK3, he was pretty easy actually, in UMK3 he got harder (he didn't use the Shadow rising Knee thing as much) and in MKT he went psycho.

Motaro isn't hard, he was easy in MK3 just jumpkick or HK when he jumps at you, run in, combo, repeat. He got a little more bad ass in MKT, but jump-in combo's should shut him up.

And just a reminder, if you are to beat Goro in MK4, don't EVER throw him... ever. His pummel thing takes of way to much to risk it.
MK1

Both Goro and Shang were way too easy.

MKII

Kintaro was a fucking bitch. He must of had like ADHD or some shit.

Shao Khan was a lil fucker, too.

MK3/UMK3/MKT

Motaro was FUCKING SICK. The bitch just wouldn't stop. Oh, and I just LOVE how you'll be in the middle of a sick combo and he just decides to start blocking or toss you to the other side of the screen.

Shao Khan was a push over. Just don't shoot anything at him if you don't wanna get shot back.

MK4

Never played the home version.

Shinnok was easy.

Kintaro is the hardest boss ever. God, how I hated this monster. I was so happy when I killed him for the first time with Shang Tsung or Kitana (don’t remember), and when I fought Kahn, I was so shocked to see how easy he was to defeat.

Kahn of Mk2 has to be the easiest boss ever.

ok, the sub bosses are harder than the bosses. and the hardest was mk2 kintaro. even tho he was the hardest he got real easy to beat once you learn how to whip his ass. they all got easy. mk1 goro, no need to really tell a strategy. mk2 kintaro, pause inbetween your jump kicks and he wont block at all. timing is everything. to avoid getting stomped on just simply do a jumping kick, not a foward one. mk2 kahn was easy. i usually stood there just kicking him, switching up with the lk and hk. mk3-mkt motaro was a bitch but he was easy as well. combo! dodging his projectiles would be the only thing to worry about sometimes simply because of him always wanting to shoot them. mk3-mkt shao kahn was easy, just stay on defense. i always crouched blocked to see what move he did. when he taunted or did the upper shoulder dash i uppercutted him. then i keep running up to him uppercutting til he blocked it. repeat pattern. mk4 goro was almost as hard as kintaro because they made him a cheap whore lol. but i always combo, run up to him, combo til maximun damage. the same thing kinda applied to moloch.....
