Pi Gua...

I guess I'm to lazy, or somethin', to scroll through the teir list and/or high gameplay thread, just to find an explaination for my question. So I'll just ask it here. what stratagies do you use when fighting in this stance? Pi Gua, I mean. All of my efforts have been in vein, when playing with Scorp I just bypass this style everytime. It's powerful yes but only if you get a clean hit in. Every attack leaves Scorp wide open if it's blocked, the push seems to be the move it has since it lets you control the pace of the match...but that's not enough for me. With all the die hard Scorpion fan here this should be easy...

You know I used to do the same, not using Pi Gua that much, until I saw Pi Gua RAGE. You probobly don't use his hellfire much either, right? Wow, you're gonna like this stuff!
It's a great mix-up style with a lot of knock-downs that can not be tech-rolled away from. The computer kinda cheats at blocking but against a human opponent these moves are very effective...
1,db+2
2,2,1,db+2
3,db+2
b+2,db+2
4,db+2
4,b+2,db+2
4,2,2,1,db+2
These are all moves you can mix up high and low, and since your opponent can't roll away you get a free hell fire! Also, if timed right, you can get a hell fire in after a shove in Pi Gua. (2,2,3 will not guarantee you a hell fire) These moves will frustrate a human player cause there's not much they can do to defend themselves besides guess at high and low blocking.
Hapkido has some moves that can not be tech-rolled after contact: d+4 d+3 these will also get you a free hell fire.
Also try this, Hapkido: 2,2,cs,2,cs,1,1,3,3,(let them hit the ground)db+2, then switch to Hap or Pi and continue a mix up.
Enjoy!

Pi Gua is a defensive style so you play defensively. Mainly you block attacks and wait for your moment to strike when your opponent is wide open. That is why that push is there. In case you just don't wanna wait and get the smackdown overwith already. It's not exactly a style you'd come towards your opponent with, but a style that you would wait for him to screw up with. Just not very good as offensive but VERY good is defensive.
shove hellfire is not guarenteed, they can bd out EVERY time no matter how fast u do it. pi gua is VERY offenvive dont use any of that 2,2,1 shit cuz u will be interrupted if its blocked. rush down with 3. it will beat any move in the game but make sure to back dash after it to make it safe. after 3 hits then if they dont tech then u can hellfire them if they do tech then while the roll come in for a mixup. mixup with 3, or 4 and b+2. thats all u need in pi gua

sorry to have to do this to u MR S but.......
1,db+2: 1 is NOT safe even if u back dash. u dont even need to be a fast jabber to punish this move just need a quick jab and scorp eats a branch so dont poke with this vs most characters.
2,2,1: after 2,2 u can interrupt the 1 and u can still hit him even if he does 2,2, back dash and even if u do get 2,2,1 in and its blocked then even with backdash most characters can still punish u.
3,db+2: lol please MR S. this is not guarenteed in fact if u do 3 then hellfire and they tech then the hellfire wiffs and u eat big damage.
4,b+2,db+2: wtf is this shit!!! after the 4 just hellfire. b+2 is NOT guarenteed after 4 but hellfire is.
4,2,,2,1,db+2: once again a dumb thing to post. after 4 2,2,1 is NOT guarenteed and if u r wrong in guessing with it then u will eat damage. stay safe and do 4 then back dash cancel then hellfire.
the point of pi gua is that 3 beats EVERY move in the damn game and when they start blocking 3 then u use 4 and because u can cancel the lag with a back dash these moves r safe. moves like 2,2,1 and 2,2,3 r not safe at all. the best moves to use r 3 4 and b+2 and hellfie when they dont tech off the 3 and when the b+2 and 4 hit. after the hellfire then come in for another mixup. when u get someone cornered with scorp then its over. most scrubs cant even escape the shove burn, shove shove burn, repeat trap. but for those who can, use stuff like shove hellfire, shove 4 or b+2 hellfire, shove shove f+2 hellfire, etc........ or if they happend to jump out of a shove and techroll then as soon as they block off the roll hellfire them and walk around them while they burn so that they r in the corner again and re-start the trap. now if they dont wanna block after they tech out of the corner then use 3 and then follow up with more pressure.
Whenever i play as Scorpion, which almost always, i'd be sure to use hapkido all the time.
i normally use pi gua against moloch, and that works wonders when timed right!
Pi Gua is offensive and defensive, combined with the shove and hell fire, its a very sneaky style that can catch peeps out.The mix-ups in this style are probably the best and if i may say so, easiest to control. Pi Gua lacks a pop-up attack to make it an all rounder, but for in-close combos, pi gua rulez!
The only drawback of Pi gua is that its slow and uses a long recovery time if the blocking opponent defends quickly.
Do not dismiss the power of Pi Gua, its more damaging than Hapkido
