I've always been under the impression that Quan Chi was older than Shang Tsung. And you have a good point about the inner sanctum allowing him to travel to the Netherealm without being weakened.

I personally think that MK4/MKG Quan Chi's a long lost member of Kiss, but I could be mistaken.

Maybe he just has a pale complexion, that's all.

Either way you do kill him in MKM. He should have stayed dead in MKM. I don't like his character.

Well in MKM Sub fought QUan in the Netherealm, right? As was mentioned earlier, Quan Chi is weakened in the Netherealm, so it's likely he travelled there using his inner sanctum, meaning it wasn't has actuall body Sub destroyed.

Quan Chi was weak when he was in Scorpion's domain in the Netherealm. He's not weak if he's anywhere else in the Netherealm. Just Scorion's lair

he's weak in the 5th plane of the netherealm, that much is fact. We assume that he is weak in all other planes aswell. We also assume also that Scorpion's lair is in the 5th plane as well.

"Scorpion brutalized Quan Chi while they were both stranded in the 5th plane of the Netherealm. Scorpion seemed to draw strength from that realm, while Quan Chi's sorcery weakened." That's more or less verbatim from Quan Chi's Konquest. When it says "that realm," it doesn't specify if it means the whole Netherealm, or just the 5th plane.

And BAV, about Sub Zero killing Quan Chi in the Netherealm, it seems that death has little effect in the Netherealm; Scorpion and Sareena were also killed there, and have both returned.

Where do you think I got it from? MK Mythologies. Quan Chi ruled by Shinnok's side in the Netherealm. So it must be Scorpions lair that weakens his powers.
