I've been away from the site for awhile so maybe this question has been already asked, but was Rayden originally evil? I ask because we all know about him being Earths Protecter in the latter mks' but his bio and ending in mk1 don't seem to give you that impression and I never really paid any real attention to them until now. Let me know what y'all think.

About Me
There are three rules for doing scientific research. Unfortunately, no one knows what they are.

Raiden gradually changed from neutral to good.
In the first MK game he was indifferent to everything but came to hate Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung later. In MK3 then he finally became Earth's protector. It was about this time that the first MK movie came out, where Raiden was immediately portrayed as Earth's protector.
This is an obvious point of conflict between the movie and the games, however, it's not an insolvable paradox. It could be said that over the generations, Raiden had simply become too cynical and ceased to believe that Earth could win MK against Goro and Shang Tsung. Had Raiden himself won the tournament he might have altered the very nature of it, hastening the process of inviting other gods, eventually leading to the destruction of Earth.
As we also know, Raiden can be quite destructive. A site claims that during his battle with Shinnok "millions of years ago" he wiped out the dinosaurs and caused the Zaterrans (Reptile's race) to emigrate from Earth to Zaterra, after their civilisation had been obliterated. Raiden is certainly not the ultimate good guy. He's more of a personified force of nature with a mission ;).

yeah, I agree, however I would like it if there was a time when Rayden was a god of good and evil and both sides were conflicting inside of him. And perhaps when Liu Kang won MK1 or something like that, he was finally able to release his dark and evil side. And perhaps the evil side can return to destroy Earth out of hatred or something like that.

Maybe an evil semi-twin brother or something would be cool. A sortta yen and yang force.
