me and tetra_vega making petition to return the 2D games because we think they were the best and still we know this games for like 11 years and we still play them so please sign and help us make midway create more games like mk1 mk2 mk3...................
we want to make midway feel that mk on 3d isnt right and that they need to kontinue makin 2d mk games so please please..........sad

Though i enjoy 2d MK, making MK in 2D now is like going back to Windows 95 after using Windows XP.

A petition is useless. The old way of MK is dead. If you want a new 2D MK game, do like me and get everything you can for Mugen.

i think mugen is lame and i hate it but never mind i just tried to help by sending the petition to midway showing them how much we miss the old games and you know they can now with windows xp they can put more levels background more fatalitys more everything!?!!!!!!!!!
but you dont want it so what can i do

Perhaps one day DreemerNJ and I will put our efforts together and make a "complete" MUGEN game for MK that plays as close to the old 2D style as possible. I agree, pretty much all MUGEN games are awful. There's a lack of uniformity that is needed to make a decent game.

i want midway to create new 2d mk game and they talked about it in a interview.....as i said they asked him that people want to see a new 2d game and he said that's an option and we think of that to......

I don't think Midway will want to make MK games 2D cause 2D isn't much of today's GOOD video games but i still play MK trilogy with my friends on my N64 and in MK: Deadly Alliance, the fights went slower than the 2D MK games

2-D all the way i like 2-d graphics more then 3-d.I actually think the graphics are better.And the fatalitys are more realistic same with the fighting.3-d bores me.

Quirk, you suck, there can be a possible way to contact Midway and at least possibly make a 2D MK for possibly Nintendo DS or sony PSP. SO Quirk, sut the F***K up, nobody cares about you, you'll do bad in everything forever.

I can sure feel the love in this thread, wow. Juvenality.

Anyway, a new 2D MK game would be cool so go ahead and get your petition going. If you can prove to them a 2D game will move a few hundred thousand copies I'm sure they'll buy it.

P.S. I think Mk2KungBroken did get it and his suggestion of working on MUGEN is a good one since MUGEN itself doesn't suck, the work (or lack thereof) people put into making characters is what sucks and if people want new 2D fighters they could just learn to make them themselves.

Also, dude, you sensored the word Son. Really?

lol, ok i would make my petition and by the way ed boon said that the successful years of mortal kombat were the 2d mk games and that another good reason to return old style mk.

so thanks all for the support (exept quirk tongue)
and it will be great if someone would help me with that cause i cant do it on my own.

oh and i had mugen and i personally hated it because it feels more like street fighter style then mk but NVM
Would you people just calm down. There's no point flaming Quirk ,He's been here longer and most of the people here are friends. If you aren't careful they could ban you. This isn't getting your petition anywhere.

Don't get downed by naysayers ,I'm sure there are enough people out there who like the 2D MK style. I'm not saying I don't like 3D ,I enjoy both 2D and 3D games. Mortal Kombat is one game I prefer playing in 2D ,another is Street Fighter. Street Fighter EX was horrible.

No YOU don't get it bro. Midway doesn't care about you, it doesn't care about 10 of you, it doesn't care about 100 of you, it doesn't care about 1000 of you, it's doesn't care about 10,000 of you. 100,000 of you might get their attention, 1,000,000 of you, they would do whatever you wanted as long as all 1,000,000 of you paid $50 each for a new old school 2D MK game. The only 2D games I could see them making would be for portable systems, there's a less than 1% chance that they would devote huge amounts of resources to a 2D game for current generation consoles. MUGEN MK sucks because people program the MK characters like SF characters, but it is possible to make them play exactly like they do in MK games, with a block button and run button, you just have to know how to program, or in my case, know someone who does. Oh and I'm sure Quirk was deeply hurt by your comments, I doubt he'll ever be the same.

Ya know, if they do make a 2D game on PS2, Xbox, Gamecube, or all of them, it will most likely be for $30/$40. The best example i can think of is Wario Ware Inc for Gamecube

mk2kungbroken is right. midway, boon, and anyone who works on mk really dont give a damn about just a few people who want 2d games. yes 2d classisc mk games are great and fun to play but people and newer generations want 3d crisp clean looking game not a 16 bit fighting game for a very powerful graphic system like xbox and ps2. if u like classic mk games and you dont want to play crappy mugen then wait a few months for midways arcade treasures 2 to come out.
