Thats how the characters were made. If you used an MK character and they felt like SF chars its becasue theperson that made them didnt take the time to change how they play.

I am currently going through adding elements of MK to the mugen common files. I already have a run button that follows almost all the rules of MK, and a block button, I started to add in the stumbling away state where you can do nothing but block. I think it should be cool and could eventually be a revised MK style game. MK2KungBroken and I have a very indepth knowledge of the mechanics of MK so it isn't hard so far to figure out how to implement MK gameplay.

I also wish they'd return MK to 2-D, but I don't really think it's possible. I think Midway reached the point of no return. I like 2-D MK a lot better than the new 3-D MK, and I have a little idea here...........

Midway can probably make a 2-D and 3-D version of future MK games as one game.

For example: Say if they had made MK:DA in both 2-D and 3-D all on the same CD, it would be like this:

When the game loads up, first the game would load your memory card, then they'll give you the option of playing either the 2-D or 3-D version of the game......

If you click 2-D, the game would be old-school, with all the characters in the game having moves that usually existed in 2-D MKs, plus all the characters that are hidden in the 3-D version would still be hidden UNTIL they are unlocked in the 3-D part of the game.

The 2-D would only have the simple stuff, like just old-school tournament ladders, versus mode, and endings in old text format like MK1-Trilogy and an option menu to change the difficulty ect.

Anyway, everything else is in the 3-D part of the game, the regular 3-D arcade and the ability to walk around the stages' environments, plus the training mode, Konquest, the Krypt, Kontent, the cooler endings, and 3-D would be the ONLY part of the game where you earn koins for the Krypt.

So basically the 2-D should be like a special add-on so that old-school players can ditch the 3-D side of the game and play the 2-D part of it once they get all the characters or if they just get sick of the 3-D part of the game and hunger for the old-school 2-D.

Besides, it can't be hard to do, the 2-D part of the game would have the old controls, which are HP, LP, HK, LK, BL, and RN with old-school button combos while the 3-D would still have the stupid "changing fighting styles" thing.

Characters would have different special moves depending on which version you're playing, for example:

If you played MK:DA in 2-D mode, Mavado would have more moves, which would only be possible with the 2-D capabilities. His stupid 3-D "red rope spring" move would look cooler in 2-D if he stretched the roped and the clips gripped the edge of the screen and he, like, bungee jump horizontally to the opponent. I can also see him sort of use his ropes in 2-D like how Kano had his "Psycho Cannon Ball" in MK Trilogy.

Sorry if this post is long, but If Midway did this, then everyone is the winner.
Also, if there is not enough memory on one CD for all that, then Midway can simply put all the 2-D stuff on a 2nd CD and sell that one game as a "2 CD game". Everything I said above would be the same except the hidden characters would still he hidden like above, but once they're unlocked in the 3-D CD and saved on the memory card, then the memory card would simply unlock the hidden guys you unlocked when the 2-D version of the game loads up.

MK2KungLaoBroken (or whatever his name is - sorry bro I don't pay much attention to names) has got it right. There is no way they will make another 2d MK game on the 3d systems.

The ONLY chance you have is if it was included as a special something in the krypt, or it was hidden somewhere in the game. MK:D, possible, but highly unlikely, probably something along the lines of a re-version of MK1.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see MK2 or MK1 ported into a 3D version in the not-too-distant future.

i think most games should go back to 2d, there are some that work better in 3d though, go the way of zelda and have a new 2d game with updated graphics and effects, its the perfect combination of old and new. Im sick of all this 3d crap!
