Tarkatans are an integral part of the plot, even if you don't see or like them. Becouse you DON'T HAVE to see them as an integral part. Thats the who-le point of it. Your debate is really lacking a start and an end, not to men-tion anything relevant to start a ood debate. Jesus..

I have no idea what you're talking about.

sorry for the quote tag previously.

Non-omniscientic narration only let's you know about necessary things happening at the very event. Postmoderns usually avoid omniscience, but use partially o.scientic narration, what is a mixture of the allknowing and fed-in-your-face style (all MK's) and others (for example camera eye technique, but not first person narration)

Ahh, I can't really explain it, search wikipedia for the types of narration.

My point: if something is not said to you at all times, it's bad? It's not. it's your preference, what can be argued over, but not defended. There are plenty of logical resons why tarkatans weren't mentioned in MKDA. One example is to divert the attention on the DA itself among the others.

It's like saying that Reptile is dumb in MK2 becouse he (wasn't playable in MK1?) didn't took an active role in MK1 (I'm not talking about the MKShaolin Monks intro).

MK Story was good up until the end of MK3, after that, everything became a loophole. This is why gameplay became so important to me, thank goodness UMK3 delivered!

Reptile was in MK1 so them having him be a henchmen for Kahn in MK II made sense. We didn't know his story back in MK1 but at least he was there. It's a natural progression of his story. That's also a case of adding something we didn't know before making the story better. Reptile had no story at all in MK1 so giving him that motive for being in MK II was good.

In MKDA we never see or hear about Baraka or any others of his race and the DA already have their own henchmen. It'd be one thing if they had said Baraka and his troops were busy during most of MKDA or something like that but instead they're just there as if they always had been. Tanya working for the DA came out of no where but she apparently had a small role and it makes sense that we didn't see her in DA since she wasn't actually interacting with the other characters. In MKD we're supposed to accept that Baraka and the horde had always been there and were the main threat to the heroes in the final battle. It wasn't even a case of them needing villains for the heroes to fight either. Characters like Hsu Hao, Drahmin, Kano and Moloch had been established as henchmen for the DA and there was no reason they couldn't have been the ones to fight the heroes. Yet they're basically completely dropped from the story in favor of introducing Baraka and his guys to the final battle for no apparent reason.

Having Kano, Moloch, ect. kill the heroes in the final battle and then have Baraka join up with Onaga after MKDA would have fit better and wouldn't have called for any changes or additions to the story. They also could have used the unbeatable army in that situation since they ended up being underused anyway. All that build in MKDA for them to just die in the MKD intro.....

I always took it as though explaining where Baraka was during MK:DA

One point I 've seen is that people are forgetting that one shot characters are instrumental for storylines. Episodic characters either do something or do something and closure. If everyone were a protagonist, it would beco-me a identical mess that of a reality show.

Hsu Hao, Sheeva, and such have served their purpose. Both of them had an influence on other plotlines, and they died. They served their purpose.

Another thing, MKDA and MKD storylines (save MKDA what was extremely coherent to my suprise) offer too much unanswered questions, and none of them are instrumental to be left unanswered.
