I disagree. Maybe thats what they were going for but if so it was still terrible story telling.

If he had said, by defeating you Sub-Zero, I will..., it would have shown that he was going to finish him. I beleive he wasn't going to kill him.

This kinda confuses me, I was about to make a topic (been a while since I've gone over the stories of the old MK's), so here it is in my words.

At the beginning of MK1, Scorpion had already been killed by Sub-Zero (not sure about this). However, he was already, at the time, dead. He firmly believed that Sub-Zero had killed his family and clan (although it was truly Quan Chi). Quan Chi had asked Sub-Zero to retrieve his amulet for him. After doing so, Quan Chi framed him for this murder. At the end of MK1, Scorpion tracked down and killed Sub-Zero (again, not sure, confirmation requested).

In MK2, Scorpion witnessed a different Sub-Zero (Sub's little brother), and mistaked him for the Sub-Zero that he killed. Scorpion however, witnessed Sub-Zero spare a defeated opponent's life, and realized that it was not the Sub-Zero that he had killed before. Feeling guilty for the murder of his older brother, Scorpion vowed to watch over him.

Basically, I have no idea what happens between MK3-MKT.

Now, for some reason, in MK4, Scorpion attacks the younger Sub-Zero ?(not sure of this) That's when he learns it was Quan Chi who murdered his family and clan. While Quan Chi was transporting Scorpion back to the Netherealm, Scorpion grabbed him, Quan Chi was trapped in the Netherealm with him.

MKDA, while Scorpion loves the Netherealm, as it increases his power, Quan Chi is weakened. Drahmin and Moloch enlightened Quan Chi about his amulet, which he used to escape the Netherealm, leaving them behind. Scorpion also escaped, tracking down Quan Chi to torment him more. Moloch and Drahmin are now pretty pissed that they were left behind after helping him escape, and have allied with Shang Tsung against him.

So, can someone please help me with those questions I have above? Also, can someone tell me the relationship between Shinnok and Quan Chi? Where was Shinnok when Quan Chi found him? (Netherealm?) And what was Quan Chi's interest in helping him?

Shinnok was in the neitherealm and Quan's main interest was getting Shinnok's amulet.

This discussion really doesn't have much to do with MK:DA. Since this topic deals with the events of the storyline throughout the Mortal Kombat series, the Classic MK Games Discussion forum would be the better suited place to carry on this discussion.
